Chronicle LXXV
Eleventh month, Sixteenth day
Year Two of the Recent Awakenings
On the Matter of the Strange and Sudden Wind
Good Denizens of Marrach;
In obedience to the will of the Lord Chamberlain, by request and with only the humblest hopes to prove of assistance to ye, the esteemed denizens of Marrach; I herewith scribe the mysterious occurence of an event which took forth last even, and which was by most accounts felt throughout the castle.
Several denizens were gathered in the Outer Bailey Courtyard when a strange wind did blow forth; a seeming cold and dark wind and where a distinct sound was heard, which some have described as the crack of a whip. It is known by this Chronicler that the unusual occurence was not wholly limited to the experience of the Outer Bailey Courtyard alone; the happening was purportedly perceived throughout the whole of the castle. All interviewed agreed that at the moment of the occurence, they sensed somehow that something, though at the time of this writing 'tis uncertain exactly what, was loosed and set free.
Directly following, several gasped. Many paled and blinked. All reacted in some such manner, and various souls didst go in search to make determinations of what import such an experience might mean. Many theories were offered to this humble Chronicler, among them; the report that the spirit of the shadow had been loosed from the shadow cloak by some ritual. These things are as of yet, unknown in any official decree.
It is also known to this Chronicler that the Apprentice Elea didst indeed call together several forth in the Opal Archway to discuss the matter. However this chronicler, in deference to such and with only the highest respect for the Apprentice and all within the Sorcerers ranks, will make no further note until investigating more of it.
As many have attributed curious things to this mysterious happening including the possibility of the return of ser Morte as well as the mention of the shadow that has been known to walk among us, I herewith provide to you the barest details merely as a precaution for all denizens, and forswear to update this chronicle as I receive further information of it.
In addition, this Chronicler begs forgiveness on this day for any error in this missive regarding this incident, and beseeches any that should know of such to contact me personally that we might speak of it at once with absolute assurances of privacy as is deemed needful.
In service of the Lord Chamberlain,
