chant scroll
You chant at a cracked and decaying scroll.
You begin to chant the words written on the scroll.
The scroll burns into ash and floats away.
Your supreme bone leg greaves begins to glow in a dim red light.
Some supreme bone leg greaves decays into a floating puddle of red energy, which dissapates into the air.

damn :(

musty scrolls teleport you back to your den/lair... I don't know what they do to monsters without a den or lair, the shrine maybe?

This is what I've tested so far.....

green parchment = "You feel healthier" (however it does not heal you, I've tested.. If anyone has further information, please give it here.)

musty parchement w/ strange writing= teleportation to your den (or lair, or shrine, wherever you re-spawn.)

black with grey letters= I'm not entirely sure what it did.. All I know is that it made several(one per scroll) items 'begin to glow', and now the items are as follows: a glowing sturdy wyvern bone ring, some gleaming cheap gaskins, some glowing supreme studden leather sleeves, and some sparkling worn bronze boots. Now I would assume this is a good thing, but still, I don't know the specifics, and what exactly it did, so any information is appreciated..

Charred: Teleport everyone in a square to your den/lair/shrine (Re-spawn location)

Silvery w/ red letters: Claws began to glow, then they stopped, then it said "You feel that you may have just wasted a perfectly good scroll." Does anyone know what this ones deal is? Can only certain caste's use it, or perhaps someone with iron claws or something...?

cracked and decaying=Same thing happened to me and it basically evaporated an item..

Red= You have to use this one in your hoard and it doubles your resources.. ::eyeshift:: No wait.. Eheheh.. Actually, it totally deletes everything in the space you are in. Items/resources/loot---everything.

Now Vials...
pale green liquid= Heals.. Hardly heals anything however, and it would take all I could carry just to heal me *maybe* a quarter to half way..(However, I have 350 health, so these vials can be great for newbies, but that's about it.)

glowing white liquid= stuns you.

bright purple liquid: Teleports you to wherever you put a mark.

water= not a thing..

bright yellow= Before I was under the assumption it made you fart.. However, when I took it it did nothing, other than "go down smoothly" or something.. Anyone know more about this one?

grey, and all other colors= Again, they did nothing for me.. One of them made my tummy feel better, only it wasn't pink like pepto bisthmol, so who cares? Again, if anyone knows more about the ones I've been vague about, or anymore information about them at all, nows the time to post it..

I tried it on Raka, same effect and he has iron claw so I dunno, maybe only a certain class can use it? *shrug*

A gaping jaw of metal teeth slam shut on you!
A viciously-sharp axe swings down from a pendulum right at you! Ouch! Must be a trap.
You feel a sharp pang of pain as a hidden needle digs into you!
You feel a sharp pang of pain as a hidden needle digs into you!
You feel a sharp pang of pain as a hidden needle digs into you!
You are no longer stunned.
drink teal
You drink some bright teal liquid.
This liquid tastes very warm and goes down easy.
drink teal
You drink some bright teal liquid.
That's the last of it.
This liquid tastes very warm and goes down easy.
Some bright teal liquid has soothed your body and removed some poison.
Some bright teal liquid has soothed your body and removed some poison.
Poison course through your veins, strength 26!

Now, I seem to remember three needles poisoning for a lot more than 26... this vial is definitely useful for surviving the pesky poisoning.

thin scroll written on vellum....

You fiddle with a thin scroll written on vellum.

You see nothing extraordinary about a thin scroll written on vellum.
Fierem the Wyvern wonders.
You blink.
write chant on thin
You must be holding some sort of writing utensil in order to write.
You blink.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
You snarl, "writing utensil...hmmm"
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern chirps.
Fierem the Wyvern cackles.
You snarl, "you seen any of those?"
Fierem the Wyvern stretches lazily.
Fierem the Wyvern shakes his head.
You ponder.
You begin to chant the words written on the scroll.
The scroll burns into ash and floats away.
A horrifically loud thunderclap fills the air!
Error encountered; the online staff has been notified.
You blink.

You shrug.
You say, "Bottoms up."
You drink some black liquid filled with flecks of gold.
You feel a sense of tranquil calm come over you.
You consider.
You begin to slip into a peaceful trance.
My, isn't the world beautiful?
A small group of humanoids led by a young soft-faced priest is moving away from you a ways off to the southwest.
You are in the middle of something.
You are in the middle of something.
You start to muse about the meaning of life...
You've almost figured it out...
Yes! Yes! That's it! You've got it! The meaning of life is
You fall, kicking and screaming, into the oblivion of Grendel's embrace!
You can't do that while you are dead.
Your soul flees from your body.
...
Someone has an evil, evil sense of humor.

The green scrolls heal you, they have a small time delay though.

The yellow liquid probably doesn't affect undead, it does cause chimera and humanoids to fart...although corpses do have a lot of gas trapped in them, which can make corpses in real life sit up in a coffin, or appear to moan. But I guess being undead it would be different.

Scroll - small. Doesn't seem to do anything either.

vial - golden. Think this might be beer. Can't carry enough to see if I get drunk though.

Also, I have had some items become 'shadowy'. I haven't been able to test these pieces of armour because of their rarity. But I have a suspicion that they have lost some of their protection value. Glowing may be +1, shadow may be -1.

I was wrong about Shadowy items, caused by the Black writing on grey scroll. I exeperimented in a fight with an ugly. Shadow actually gives +1 protection, ie the Success Roll against you goes up by one.

The silvery scroll enchants whatever you are wielding, so it doesn't work on iron claws or your claws. The are for making weapons stronger and make them glow. They are actually pretty cool...

So...black potion with gold specks kills you (I knew that) and makes you know the meaning of life, but you die before you can put it into words, even inside your head? That really sucks...Someone is VERY twisted...

Anyone got a clue about the small scrolls?

what does teal liquid do??

Merlynson
10-07-2002, 10:17 AM
Teal heals poison damage - see Kaoslace's thread.

Additional info:

Bottles carry more shots than the 2 in vials.

Silvery liquid provides something like ethereal armour but doesn't increase the *success roll. May be caste specific again.

Whereas white liquid stuns, bright white liquid does provide an etheral shield that added 10 to my* success roll.

Silver scrolls and black on grey scrolls seem to have dried up. I would be happy to buy either. I get mad thinking about the ones I threw away.

Gossip is that stones are useful to magical creatures.

*I mean the uglies' to-hit roll, their roll required to hit me.

Silvery liquid is the shaman endure... Chalky white is carapace.
They're both pretty weak though, protecting against only the most basic.

This post really helped me a lot. Being a chimera I wouldn't know much about enchanting and stuff.

Some of the potions only work for specific castes.

Grey is cure for creeping crud, not tea as I supposed.

drink grey
You drink some grey liquid.
This liquid tastes very warm and goes down easy.
You are wracked by the horrible pain of the Creeping Crud, strength 33!
[Success: 907, Roll: 895] A clumsy footpad tries to stab you with his stiletto, but misses.
drink grey

That's the last of it.
This liquid tastes very warm and goes down easy.
Some grey liquid has completely cured you of your disease!

Small scrolls release all of your grunts when you chant them.
