Sorry to be dense here, but a lots been happening, and I'm way behind in the news.
Can any of you who play The Eternal City tell me in short what exactly it is, gender-wise? It sounds interesting enought to try, but I'd like to know more.
Thank you,

More or less The Eternal City is a MUD (Multi User Dimension) based on the Roman Republic. Players have the ability to roleplay in a massive world, with a well thought out storyline. The Eternal City is more skill based then the other games currently on Skotos. Every character has the ability to chose a varity of skills when they first start the game, which range from combat skills, to healing, locksmithing, thieving, and a few soon to be released craftsperson skills. In addition to skills there are several races that each player can chose from, each race has it's own unique history. For example, the Altene's are a fearsome warrior people, they were driven from their original homeland, and now sell their skills as the worlds most elite mercenaries. It's a good game, give it a try.
*also has no idea what was ment by gender-wise*

I'm not clear on the gender aspect of the question either.
TEC is a RP intensive game. You can play male or femal characters as you choose and they can have relationships with whichever gender they prefer.
Ancient Rome -- which is the foundation - knew same sex relationships well.
Course, this is Repubican rome and we are having a decline problem on our hands so in some parts of the world, decadence is high. *remembers a certain party where dyed sheep (pink, blue, yellow) wandered about.
Any more specific help I can give.. let me know

I'm pretty sure Darren meant whether it was a MUD, MUSH, or whatever, and not the genders of characters in the game. Which someone already answered.
I just began checking it out, looks interesting....

Let's play nice in front of strangers now ;)
It;s my kind of game. That should be enough to answer all of your questions. =Þ
Ok, well, maybe not.
Tec is a fantasy game based on Republican Rome. (copies previously said comments)
However, aside from it being skill based and such and being full of serious role players, it's also a game of strategy and skill...at least for me. (I play a very intelligent thief..so I like to think.)
There is more to TEC than meets the eye and it's worth taking the time to explore. You'll often find that if there is something you want to do an it's not readily apparent, it only takes a little creative thought to make it possible.

I love roleplaying.....but i dislike mushes. I dislike not having to increase in skill, you know? But I love that TEC isn't about just advancing or fighting.
Which is why TEC is special to me. I would hate every other mud I could play because almost all of them are just about combat and roleplay.
I HATE fighting. It's nasty ;p I cannot sit around and hit things. It's BORING. ;p I love healing because I am around people - I train by being around people.
I rarely train alone, and that's usually just to get enough SP to train when I'm close.
at the same time, I have a need to be the best at what I do. I have to be better than everyone else ;p There are healers in Iridine better than me, but not more than those I can count on my fingers, and not all that can do everything easily ;p
Makes it worth playing for me.
Now, if I could find people to palm with, my thief might actually GO somewhere. ;p

Okay, now for the Stupid Question of the Year...
Could someone define MUD, MUSH, and the other terms I've heard? Not just what the letters stand for, but what they are and how they differ from each other?

MUD-Multi User Dimension(Dungeon). An online Text based game with various levels of Roleplaying, and a fully coded skill system. The main basis however in a MUD is fighting off Mobiles(NPCs), gaining loot, and expierence from it. MUDs are usually broken up into 3 types. Player killing, and Roleplaying, with the third type generally consisting of a hybrid of the two to various levels.
MUSH- Similar to a MUD, however very rarely will a MUSH have a full set of fully coded systems, and almost never will these include Player vs NPC combat or Player vs Player. Generally things of this nature are handled by emotes, and the watchful eyes of a GM. The emphasis on a MUSH is roleplaying above all else, however Roleplaying in a MUSH tends to be less structured then that of a MUD, lacking fully coded systems, and power emotes among all but the most veterean of players is the norm.
If you need any other terms defined just ask :)
