Kingdom Hearts: Final Fantasy characters REALY messed up!

WHO IS LEON!? i understand this is Squall but why in the world does he look like a cross between Laguna and Squall!? and why is he calling himself Leon!? i dont get this what is this!? i mean its not just him the other FF characters in kingdom hearts are also screwed up! i mean Cloud DOES NOT! have bat wings and claws for hands! and his sword looks like it has mummy bandaging over it! all the ages of the FF characters are screwed up(all though theres nothing wrong with Yuffie and Moogle) but serusly last time i checked Cid of FF7 wasnt a midget! and Tidus of FF10 wasnt 13!! so what is this and why is Square soft changing how they look!? i cant stand this i am sorry but its been in my head ever sence i found this out, and another thing i figured out while i was typing this, (this is my guess)Squall+Laguna=leon*shrug*

One of the people behind the design of the final fantasies (maybe the char designer, don't know) wanted to take this opportunity to expand the concepts behind the characters. You can be sure that the characters will still act the same way, if not at least similar, as their old selfs. If you can't accept these little (yes, little) cosmetic changes then don't play the game.

I've heard that the gameplay sucked anyway.

Cant believe im still even logged in. Kingdom Hearts. Yes the game sucks but for different reasons then the recreation on the visuals of old squaresoft heroes. They changed the appearances for one game, call it an alternate reality wherein the characters are not even truly themselves, i mean would the real Cloud, though a pansy by any standards, team up with the worthless underworld god hades from that damn hercules movie? or would Sephiroth, such a character clone of the great Setzer, actually have the voice of lance bass? No, it is all meant without context or issue or point. Chill out.

The thing to remember is that it's completely non-"canonical." This is just a way someone in Square got creative with the characters. Much in the way someone at Capcom got creative with Chun Li, who is dead and a cyborg now. But at least these changes don't apply to the "real game" -- Squaresoft has never, except for in Chrono Cross, revisited the universe of a previous game. It's just a creative way of exploring the characters -- call it alternate selves in an alternate world, or whatever helps you rationalize it.

Some redeeming features....

this is most definately an alternate reality with some character similarities.

Lance Bass' voice is limited to in-battle coments by Sephiroth, therefore you cant really tell, since he only speaks during attacks.

Cloud rocks, although I think they made him a little weak.

and Squall calls himself Leon for reasons explained later in the game.

I enjoyed it.
