Hey there,
Hope this isn't rude or anything, I don't want it to be, but I'm just very upset that TEC is no longer free.
I'm curious, why was it necessary to move it over to this system. I suppose there must be an explanation, but I'm sad because after playing for so long, I will not be able to any more. I'm a university student, so every penny counts, including $9.95 a month.
Well, I guess I'll be giving away all my possessions for the rest of this trial period. Too bad. Galidia says goodbye.

The game was originally supported by banner adds and by IENT. However, in the last year banner adds have gone down the tubes to the point where they aren't worth it anymore, and IENT pretty much abandoned us. Despite what a lot of people seem to think, running, and hosting an online game of the size of TEC costs a great deal of money, money TEC wasn't earning with the banner adds. The change was needed to keep TEC even open as a RPG anymore. Oh and as a fellow college student I symphathize, but unless you are on a razor tight budget(and I do know a few people like that), cutting out one pizza a month gives you enough money to play TEC :).

I thought (and was read to beleive by the fated last forum message to be seen on the original TEC site) that the reason for the move was based on the fact that Ereal Rising is sucking up alot of funding, and while the game could make it on its own the new one needed a firm cash support. I guess that was one of many reasons and that means so much for my hope that when the project was done TEC would be free to all occupants of Iridine once again. As for me, the money thing is a problem because I still patiently (yeah right :D) await my parents consent for their credit card number. I may no longer be able to be a part of the game and add to its already rich environment. I suppose this is true for many people. *sigh* Guess I'll stop raving now but its like saying goodbye to and old friend whom you'll probably never see again.

Unfortunately, I was so disappointed by the move that I never even came to read these. In hopes of finding news of the game becoming a free one again, I revisited the site. I am sorrowed by the fact that I may never be able to play TEC again- atleast until I leave home for college. My parents would never consent to the $9.95/month... er $8.83/month to play. Please, do send out some type of notice if ever the game goes back to free play. And perhaps maybe you could use paypal for voluntary donations?

With hopes for the return of Cocidius, Polmius, and Benjius,

Don't hold your breath. I think TEC is going to stay for quite a while.
