I see that at least a few people playing Grendel are into the series. This is for you.

This series can be difficult to understand. I've seen more than one person just give up trying. Bring up your questions and then we can discuss. :} I know quite a bit about the series...

Niea_7, an anime created by a number of people behind lain and obviously influenced by it's predecessor, is also on-topic conversation.

The limit for the poll is 10. So I'm sorry if I didn't include your favorite character.

Besides Lain, Taro is my favorite.

"Nee hee hee. Anime limericks...

There once was a young girl named Lain
who thought her whole life was a pain.
She got a computer
(Dad thought it'd suit her)
And she never was heard from again."

I'd post ascii art, but the board doesn't work well with that. :/

One good site is 'thought experiments lain' @

http://www.cjas.org/~leng/lain.htm

Although that may give you more advanced information than you're looking for. Serial experiments Lain was release outside of Japan by Pioneer sometime in 1999, the 13 episodes were put on 4 dvds. You should be able to find at least one dvd in any store with even the most basic selection of Anime. (Pioneer does a good job in distributing most of their titles)

Also released were 2 soundtracks, various posters, an artbook, novelized version of the series, an 'Ultimate Fan Book' which has information you could use when roleplaying in the world of lain, some other books, and lots of other little things -- of which I have a decent collection. Not that you'd need any of this junk to be any kind of fan, of course...

If you need an official site you could always go to the pioneer animation site. However, in the case of lain, fan sites would have significantly more info. And there are plenty out there in a number of languages.
