Her Majesty's Court

To the Gentle Denizenry of Her Majesty's Castle Marrach;

In accordance to the will of the Lord Chamberlain and the Chronicler of the Court, it is my privilege to submit this recount of the events surrounding Her Majesty's Court held early this evening, the fifteenth day of the month, in the Inner Bailey's grand Throne Room.

Many denizens gathered before the Ice Throne this evening as per the traditional announcement made by the Royal Speaker. Regal trumpet fanfare marked the coming of the Queen and her Royal Court, while the devoted crowd, dressed in their finest garb and accoutrements, illustrated transcendent deference to Her Majesty's entrance by bent knee and bowed head. Members of Her Royal household gathered close to our Gracious Monarch as She addressed the assembled denizens in the Northern tongue: "We bid you welcome on this fine afternoon to the Court of Castle Marrach. As ever, it is our greatest pleasure to join with you, the members of the court, in service to the realm. May all find peace and joy within this hall today."

Thereafter followed the most formal announcement, made by the Lord Chancellor and Royal Consort Lord Boreas, that Dame Catharsis and Esquire Ronan would enter public courtship with the approval of Her Majesty. Many smiles were exchanged between the assembled denizenry and the Dame and Esquire as the Lord Chancellor made his request, "Please give them your well wishes after court," and asked the Honored couple to approach the Royal Dais. Referring then to Lady Charmiam, First Acolyte for the Natura Balanus faith, Lord Boreas invited the Dame and Esquire to begin the formalities of their courtship and to bring their questions, if any, to the First Acolyte.

The Lord Chamberlain, Sir Launfal, came forth and also offered his welcome to those assembled and proceeded to issue promotions to the denizens listed as follows:

To the tenth link as Honored Guest:- Sera Britta
- Acolyte Convoitise
- Ser Gawyn
- Sera Neerie
- Sera Dweia
- Ser Maurize
- Ser VestioTo the eighth link as Courtier:- Ser Mayakovsky
- Sera Diana
- Sera Faith
- Sera Illiana
- Ser Salain Of exceptional note this evening were the gifts given to each and every denizen earning the rank of Honored Guest or Courtier -- this including those promotions made presently and in the past. Marking the Seamstress' implementation of a new color in their repertoire, snow leather scabbards and short scabbards were given to said denizens as gifts on behalf of Her Majesty; full scabbards to Courtiers and short scabbards to Honored Guests.

Ser Kyramor, member of the esteemed Winter Watch, was selected for his noted efforts made against the Elementals to come forth before Her Majesty to speak of how the Elementals were vanquished. The ser proffered his "summary" of the Elementals' demise for the ears of Her Grace, detailing how he helped to lure the Undine to Hobb, whence they did destroy eachother. Her Majesty praised and thanked the Watchman for sharing the tale and proceeded to more fully laud Corporal Jarrod and the Winter Watch "for the diligence in which this situation was settled."

This session of Court concluded with the announcement of further appointments as Sir Launfal announced Courtier and Prosecutor Gretchan's promotion to the fifth link as Mistress and Keeper of the Seals. "As a courtier of this Court and a prosecutor within the Chancery, Sera Gretchan has done good and faithful service in Our name," spoke Her Majesty, "Upon the recommendation of Lord Gracien, the Court is pleased to announce that hereafter Mistress Gretchan shall hold the position of Keeper of the Seals." The position of Royal Provost, overseer of the Winter Watch, the Gaol, and law enforcement in the Castle, was appointed to Sir Petris after his prominent service as past Corporal of the Winter Watch, his service in Knighthood, and "many years of loyal service to Her Majesty" (Lord Boreas).

As tradition would have it, the Royal Speaker announced the adjournment of Her Majesty's Court and invited those of Noble, Knightly and Courtly rank to partake in refreshments as served in the Baron's Hall.

This chronicle will be subject to changes and corrections, as I humbly ask that the Readers indicate to me through their discretion any falsehood I may have mistakenly communicated.

In service to Her Majesty Queen Vivienne, the Lord Chamberlain, the Chronicler's Office, and the Denizenry of our Gracious Queen's Realm;

As it was kindly brought to my attention by the Lord Chamberlain, Sir Launfal, I would like to bring this chronicle to the fore so to make note of the following which justly should have been included in the original posting of this chronicle.

In giving the promotions to Courtier and the eighth link, Her Majesty and Her Court honored the respective denizens further with the following words as spoken by our Gracious Queen in the Northern tongue:

"Since first coming to our attention during our tour of the Outer Bailey, ser Mayakovsky has shown himself a poet and musician of great creativity, beauty, and passion. Such qualities are to be admired in a member of our Court."

"Nurse Diana has shown her dedication to the people of Marrach by her faithful care of those wounded by the foul elementals. Although sorely injured herself, she saved her last two bandages for others. Such selfless commitment to serving is to be applauded in a Courtier, as our good Lord Chancellor Boreas has affirmed in recommending her promotion to this state."

"For her selfless service and devotion to the Chancery in her office of Chief Scribe, Lord Gracien asks us to commend sera Faith. Devotion of duty is to be admired in a Courtier."

"Ser Salain has assisted sera Calla with the Linguist Project Assembly. We are told by Sir Bragi and Doctor Mielyr that he shows great aptitude for language and will one day make a valued addition to the Royal Collegium. He presents a fine demonstration of what levels of intellectual pursuits Courtiers may aspire."

"Lady Charmiam has spoken to us many times of sera Illiana's good service to the Faith of Natura Balanus. As well, we have seen her take a position of sinecure, that of Royal Almoner, and turn into something much grander. Such caring for others and dedication to see those of all ranks have access to some of the finer things in life demonstrates a heart which any Courtier should be proud to possess."

The Lord Chamberlain was gracious enough to bring this over-sight to my attention; that I had omitted this significant portion of Court from my chronicle. If such is proper, I would like to apologise to those honored at Court, Castle Marrach's newest and honored Courtiers; and also to rest of the Court as well as Her Majesty, who so patiently gave to me this chance to redeem my chronicle.

As Ever in Service,
