In accordance to the Will of the Lord Chamberlain, and to hopefully serve the Denizens of the Castle better, I present to you a Chronicle about the recent wedding of ser Robert & sera Finna.

Last Saturday, the wedding of ser Robert and sera Finna was held at the shrine. Fourty-five denizens were at attendance at this wedding.

Acolyte Ophidias presided over the wedding, "Welcome all this day, we only await the bride and groom to be present afore we do begin. I wished to take a moment to relate how pleased I am to see so many gathered here."

Then sera Finna entered the room. She carried a bouquet of flowers consisting of green daffodil, red amaryllis, yellow acanthus and white roses. Her wedding gown was a long-sleeved flor-length gown. It has a scooped neckline and maroon worsted laces to cinch the back. The hem is carefully mended, embellished with the professional mark of Mistress Ermengarde. She accented her wedding gown with an ash rabbit-fur purse, a silver and gemstone bracelet, a maroon fox-fur muff, a wire-rimmed spectacles, a maroon brocade ribbon coif, maroon brocade slippers, a pair of silver earrings, a mended wedding gown, a glowing copper choker and a maroon fox-fur girdle.

Robert is a man of white complexion with a head of dark-brown hair, short and mussed, and a trim moustache. He carried his silver ring and his silver ring. He wore a black leather scabbard, ebony leather tall boots, an ebony wool cape, an oxblood cotton pouch, ebony leather gloves, an ash muslin long-sleeved shirt, a wind charm, ash wool pants and a maroon brocade sleeveless doublet.

Ophidias announced to the crowd, "To be part of this great occasion one must come only with love for these two, wishes for their happiness, joy for their rapture. Come then and give me your smile as assent, your word as your bond. By the Bud, the Bloom, the Leaf and the Bough - let me hear a strong 'Aye' if you are here in such a Way." The masses consented.

Then Ophidias motioned the Acolytes and the Heartkeepers to come forward to the altar. The heartwarmers were Sera Hannah, Ser Gareth, and Sera Kenderaela.

When Acolyte Ophidias asked bride and groom their reason for their readiness for marriage, Robert responded first,"For the beauty of balance and the grace of love, I come willing and ready."

Finna said softly, "I come for my soul and heart can not live without him...he is my balance."

Ophidias gestured widely, "Then be welcome. In the name of our Queen Vivienne and the Faith it is my honor to serve you in this way, on your Way." At this point, Ophidias squeezed Robert's hand.

Ophidias announced to the masses, "We gather here this day in a ritual of love and faith. You Finna and you Robert, stand here before your friends, dear ones, Heartkeepers, and your balance to join Ways as man and wife, love and life - to be family. Robert, what do you have to offer this woman for her love?"

"I present to her my love and my pledge, "Robert replied, "May I never knowingly or willingly do such a thing to harm, nor grieve, her in any form or fashion. May she know in my words and deeds that there is no other in my heart nor my Way but she. May she know that against all trials and tribulations she will find shelter and acceptance in my arms and in my eyes. I ask you Finna, to accept this as an outward token of my trust. Accept it my love, for that which is mine is yours."

While gazing into Finna's eyes, He offered finely designed, smooth silver moonstone ring to Finna.Engraved upon the ring is a phoenix with it's wings outspread; two small carefully set moonstones serve as its eyes. The inscription upon the ring reads "Our Love is Renewed Everyday" It has the professional marks of both Grand Master Jeweler Mistress Zia & Apprentice Kaine, who originally designed the piece.

Finna accepted the gift saying, "My Love, I accept your pledge, and your love as I accept your token. Know what is in my heart, as I know what is in yours. The balance of my will, of my love, shall ever be yours."

Ophidias then turned her almond-shaped violet eyes to Finna fondly, "Finna, what do you offer in return for the love of this man?"

Finna says to Robert, ""I present to him my love and my pledge. May I never knowingly or willingly do such a thing to harm, nor grieve, him in any form or fashion. May he know in my words and deed that there is no other in my heart nor my Way but he. May he know that against all trials and tribulations he will find shelter and acceptance in my arms and my eyes. I ask you Robert , to accept this as an outward token of my trust. Accept it my love, for that which is mine is yours."

She gave to Robert a silver moonstone ring, identical to the one that Robert gave to her.

"My Love, I accept your pledge and your love, as I accept your token. Know what is in my heart, as I know what is in yours. The balance of my will, of my love, shall ever be yours," said Robert as he accepted his ring.

Ophidias asked the congregated denizens, "You who witness - know that I feel the balance of these two souls, and by the rituals of the Faith their balance holds and dwells stronger together than apart. Would any disagree or know of a greater balance for either?"

As there was no response, Ophidias noded. "Then it shall be."

Ophidias told Robert and Finna as she displayed a braided multicolored ribbon made from three separate ribbons, "With this binding I tie you, heart to heart, together as one."

Ophidias carefully wraped the braided, multicolored ribbon around the couple's hands thus firmly binding them together in this life. A gently warm breeze blows through the room, ruffling their clothing, and played soothingly across people's skin.

Ophidias gently lectured Robert and Finna, "With this knot you are joined in sacred union. By the Bud, the Bloom, the Bough and the Leaf. May you always balance as two and as one of two. Blessings upon you on your days ahead of health and joy, courage and comfort, love and devotion. May neither take advantage of the other. For remember what one may not provide, the other may. Your Vows have now been heard by all. Your exchange of tokens seal your love and respect for each other. Know there will be times as your days flow that the memory of this moment is softer and less clear that with all you offer and the love you impart there are times when the solace you need is of a trusted friend, one who has no malice in their heart and only respect and joy for you and your love. That only wish to see you clothed in rapture."

Ophidias gazeed at Kenderaela, Gareth and Hannah, "Finna and Robert are these the ones you would trust to keep your hearts when you need such a friend?" They nodded.

Ophidias then told Kenderaela, Gareth and Hannah, "Heartkeepers, your responsibility to these two is not without its share of joy and burden. You are the shoulder to their sorrows and the smile to their happiness. You are the ones who will help them to hold fast to their vows and their Faith by showing them the grace of true friendship and love. Heart keepers, would you willingly and gladly accept this burden with love in your hearts - for all time?" They consented.

The Heartkeepers then advised the couple. Hannah suggested to them to, "Be true to one another, do not let the words of others interfear with the feelings you have between you. ALways speak to the other before assuming they have done something to hurt you."

Gareth after a few words of jest, advised them to "Remember ever what joy, what strength, what eternal bliss there is in Fidelity and what sorrow and tragedy can come from betrayal of a beloved's trust.Powerful, eternal, immortal creatures thou art, and as long as ye Remember it and cherish it, powerful, eternal -- immortal -- thy Love shall be."

Kenderaela said to Finna and Robert, "I would add, Communicate always, never let doubt sit on your heart."

Ophidias gazes at Finna and Robert gently, "Finna and Robert - will you accept these three as your Heartkeepers, knowing that they will bind themselves to you in this way - for all time?" They consented.

Ophidias nods to herself, "The balance holds. It shall be."

Seeker Vaekwon, Ophidia's assistant for this service, took a wooden goblet from his wooden bowl and handed it to Acolyte Ophidias. This bowl was made from smooth, dark wood and had two handles. The goblet, was decorated with vines. Ophidias extends her wooden goblet visibly, "This is your first drink together as man and wife. May you never thirst." Each of the couple, first Finna, then Robert, took a ceremonial sip.

The Acolyte then displayed a white roll, "This is your first food together as man and wife. May you never hunger." The couple both took a bite, first Robert, then Finna.

"Let it be known this day these two are bound. Friends, Seekers Acolytes Heartkeepers - I present to you Lhadra Finna and her good Lhadro, Robert,” Ophidias finally declared, "We celebrate the moments of joy to remind us of hope in our sorrows. Such is balance. So by the balance I charge you all Sera, Ser, Seeker and friends to celebrate this day and to offer the couple your well wishes and warmth to cherish in future days. Go and be at peace. Let the blessings fall on you this day. Strength to thee both, my congratulations to thee."

And with that, the wedding had ended.

Immediately afterward, Ophidias left a gift for the couple. She prayed and a warm breeze seemed to flow from Ophidias. It smelled like cherry blossoms and sweet spring rains, which left everyone feeling a little more cheerful than before they came in. Other gifts were given by the couple to each other. A wedding reception was held in the Sunset Room a few hours later at five late bells.
