No seriously. My older character,I can type the command history..and there it is. My New character? Blank. Will there be a history available for our newer characters?

Sorry about this nuisance post, but I had to post on how funny I thought Brassy's second post was. :D

Lasseter

Ok brassy, countless times you yell at me and others to stop posting stupid stuff. Don't you think it's a bit hypocritcal to be posting something silly like this? The answer is simple they are NEWBIE's. They haven't been around yet to gain an history. Does that answer your question. And if you can post silly posts than dod gamnit So can I! Thank you

I think the title says it all, but I'll elaborate for you.

It used to be when you type the command HISTORY---even if you had JUST created the character with the old chargen--it gave you a "history" based on the questions you answered about life "before" Iridine. *extreme sarcasm* You do realize that your character HAD a life before Phaedro laid eyes on them RIGHT?

So far this new chargen doesn't look to provide you with an account of what you chose for your character.

The <history> command has nothing to do with "NEWBIE" status. The information that follows this command informs you of the choices you made when initially creating your character. Here's an example:

Came from Remath.
Arrived flush.
Just got here.
Commited minor theft.
Have a job.
Live in a shack.
Had a happy childhood and loving parents.
Hard-working and helpful child.
Lately, been doing a lot of learning.

So there you have it. Being a new character should not have any effect on this information as it is the character's previous history - prior to entering Midlight.
It is obvious that if newer characters are not displaying this information, the GM's have somehow disabled it for reasons unknown to us.

I'm thinking that the History command with the new chargen is in need of new phrases to inform us of our choices. You know like the traits and so on.

It would be nice to know if it will ever be included. Or if it's a command that will gradually go the way of Shield Bash. I know I've used it to remind me that in my debate in choosing to be from X or Y in the republic, I chose Y. It was nice to check, since I like to roleplay my choices and not just use the questions to manipulate a characters stats.

When I first started playing I selected 'commited minor violence' for Vlad and RPed it like he was just out of jail when he popped up at Phaedro's.:D

Yes! that is exactly what I meant. *pouts* I was so excited about the new chargen I didn't write down my selections.

And I KNOW I picked worldy knowledge and have YET to see what two languages she has. If she has them, they aren't listed and I didn't have a choice list prompting during creation.

Um, about the history thing, I think that it's not there for the new characters because we don't answer any of those questions. (or at least, very few) I hope they're working on updating that, though.
As for the language, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be able to choose them during generation.*shrug*

It works, Shalini.

When I chose Remathen, it prompted me for a third language.
When I chose worldly knowledge, after I was done ALL my traits, it tells me to choose my languages.

It threw me for a loop because I had to wait a bit, was wondering where it was. :P

Brassy if you picked Worldly knowledge in the first day or so of the new system you didn't get the languages, it wasn't quite working yet it seems. You should either bug the GMs about it, or recreate the character.

I'll do that Annatar.

I did create the new character right after the move. And I sent an @feedback on it too, including the bugs of not getting the languages and another thing. I'd pretty much worked out why the new characters didn't have a history as I mentioned in my "oversight" post.

Just wondering if the command will disappear or if that time consuming bit of coding ( I'm thinking it's tedious and time consuming and very low priority at the moment) will be implemented in the future.
