Hi just wondering but is anyone working on some OUT OF GAME novels? It would be interesting to read some Eternal Novels made by decent writers. I am not talking about kiddy novels I mean people that are decent at english and can write a good story about Midlight...Perhaps not just about Irdine. Could have something about different cultures.

I had heard a rumor from a fairly reliable source that someone might be working on such a novel.

If there were to be a novel (beyond fanfic), then I strongly suspect player characters would not be in it. That is a legal minefield not worth touching....

It is my understanding that under the agreement you make to play this game, all names, etc., are the property of Worlds-Apart.
Thus, if a novel using Midlight as the backdrop was approved by Scott and his legal team, a character's name could well be placed in print without the foreknowledge of the person that controls said character.
As this has yet to be done I'm not sure what the thoughts of the management on this are. Interesting question, though. One that I would like to hear an answer on. :)

I for one would certainly find it interesting IF, using their backlogs, the GM's actually created historical novels of some of the old events in TEC. They could contact any PC involved and slightly alter the phrases mentioned or actions made to be more specific in the meaning and such. It'd be pretty cool t' see. Know I'd like to see a Drexus story ;)

I personally think it would be pretty cool to have my character names in a novel.

Just so long as the author comes out to the dumps to interview me. Oh, and I need at least a weeks notice so I can have my agent prep me for it. I'm gonna be a star!!
*cough*
Sorry, got a little carried away.

I think a great idea for a book would be to take all those old stories and bios from the site, edit out the typos and such, maybe allow people to change them if they want, and then collect all fo the stories/bios maybe poems and songs together and make a book out of it. we'll call it... "Legends of Iridine" or... maybe give it a better name =P
