Last night, I renewed my account with Skotos. I used a friend's credit card because I didn't have one of my own. I started playing my game, it worked, the card was authenticated, the account was paid for. Since it was my friend's card, I cleared the credit card information so it wouldn't bill him again. I login this morning to find out that my account has expired. Any ideas on what happened? I paid for premium by the way also.

We authenticate cards when they're offered, and then do most actual charges overnight. Since you cleared the card before that, we never got the opportunity to, hence the rapid expiration.
You need to enter the card, and then leave it there at least overnight, until you see your due date jump a month, rather than just a day.

When I upgraded my account to premium I was told by the system that my credit card would not be charged until March 20th. It specifically stated that. Yet I get my credit card bill and I owe $34.90 to skotos tech inc. What's that all about?

Let me put it this way. First of all, you're either paying yearly or quarterly. This is how the system works, I'll use an example from a yearly billing.
First in order to upgrade your account, they calculate how much of the money accredited to your account that you haven't used. So, on a yearly system, if you have 3 months left, it would take 1/4 of the money.
This portion that you haven't used will come off of your new total. This will then be billed as soon as you upgrade the account.

I suppose it could be something like that...but I pay monthly.
That still doesn't explain why I was charged a month before I was electronically told I would.:(

When you converted to premium, you immediately get your premium services -- thus you have to be charged the difference between your basic membership that you've paid so far and the premium membership fee. We have to do this as else someone could change back to basic before the due date and get free premium services.
You will be charged the full premium price on your next normal date.
