Crap, I hate it when I start out in Asia.

Bummer! I didn't know you were going to use my eastern hemisphere map or I'd have signed up! Waah!

Seriously, if most everyone who signs up for this game plays, I'd be real interested in opinions on whether or not it's a balanced map. Some players are located in areas where they will gain control of more stars to start, but I tried to compensate for this by reducing or enhancing certain areas' star values.

I also tried placing home stars in areas where everyone can assume the role of a historical or present-day country/empire if they wish to, while still spreading them out sufficiently for a fun, fair game.

Oh, and does it look enough like the eastern hemisphere? It's harder than it seems to make shorelines and interiors with stars. My hat's off to whoever did the europe map. Also, there's 158 stars, and I didn't even put Antarctica in there.

I wasn't planning to use it, really. I was just flipping through my map choices, and realized I'd never used that one.

I'll try and use it again next time I see you sign up.

Shannon, dunno if the GMs know about it or not but when you first load the main hegemony.skotos.net page there is an error on that page. Every time I load it I get an error message. Its functional, but causes...turbulence on the flight to galactic domination. :)
