I've been playing this game for two weeks. I just dropped tons into research and actually built up a fleet that won't get trashed by everyone. I have three cluster colonies, good amount of money, doing great!
Log in: a single Nirvana Dreadnought flys in, destroys my entire fleet and takes my cluster colonies that I've barely been able to hold lately. ONE DAMN SHIP! Takes every planet I have except my first planet! I even made sure to keep my Power rating down to keep the big players off me and I still was wasted.
Is this the Balanced ships the update mentioned? I know a Dreadnought is strong, but come on. I had Fighters, Fodder, Corvette, Frigates, and a Destroyer. I couldn't stop ONE ship?

On another hand, I flew in with some meager 40 terran frigates in an agressive style of attack and killed that same Nirvana Dreadnought long before he was even in range to shoot at my ships. Took 2 clusters from him, could've been yours :)

It's all about power raiting I think. If you would've managed to kill atleast one of it, you'd probably win no matter your losses. Dreadnought's power ratings are crazy.

i think this has got to do with battle strategy. it is unlikely for smaller ships to take on a bigger ship. all that also depends on the number of smaller ships. i have seen tons of small ships over-run bigger ships before.

for more details on battle strategies, download the `strategy guides` in the manual.

advise: always try to keep at least 3-4 `space` colonies. all border colonies can be taken. so you should be more careful
regards to `high risk` colonies (border colony)
