Announcing... the first (as far as I am aware) serious Droidarena 2 corporation founded by a Skotos member, 3rd World Wargames. If you're Skotos, you're invited. If you're not, you're still welcome. Our flag may be a ploy on WWIII, but so's our name, and it looks a heck of a lot better than most everyone else's flag anyway.

We already control one city. As with all corporations, we have private forums and an ICQ client and channel. It doesn't get much easier to communicate. Want some more experience? Maybe some rank and recognition? How about a cool-looking flag by your name? Friends to fight with? Communication? Somebody to learn DA2 with?

3rd World Wargames wants you. And yes, I mean you. Why? Because chances are, you're Skotos. That makes us friends. Welcome to Driodarena 2. Let's rock this new world.

Under TERMINAL, click CORPFLAGS.INFO and look for 3rd World Wargames. The big star in the top-right corner is to join, and if you click my name (Foxcat), you can send me an email in-game.

Hmm... I'll give it some consideration. I'm not going to be able to play Hege now that classes are starting up again, but Droid Arena I can do.

Though I'm rather enjoying being a loner. Already conquered 3 cities all by meself. Hope you got your notebook cuz you're about to get schooled. ;)

Cheeky as ever,
Locke :D

We've come a long way for a bunch of upstarts who just started playing this season. ;)

We're now at 7 members and 14 stars. 3rd World Wargames is up to 15th in the official corporation rankings, and we're still happy to accept new applicants. If there's anyone who wants to help work on the corporate image, specifially with a website for the corporation, be aware that you'd be accepted very happily.

We're getting creamed in terms of cities, but your friendly neighborhood 3WW Corporation now boasts 12 members, growing daily. And Locke has won a very pretty medallion for his performance as Research Specialist in the corporation, setting him (at least record wise) a level above his counterparts among our rivals!

I joined up under Seidel. Good stuff. Does anyone have any descent scripts?

I'm very late to the game this season, but I know I plan to be a part of DA as long as I can. I'm totally addicted.

I didn't realize we had a completely Skotos based team in there. I'm with Overkill. Snowlace.

I'm slowly getting a grasp of the rsl. Fun stuff!

This looks like fun, but how do you play the game?

All I know is TEC and "real" computer games.

This thing looks like neopets meets robowar.

If anyone cares to help, PM me or AIM me, I'm Fugbasher.

This season is ending today. The next season will start between the 11th and the 17th, so I'm told.

The game is as complex or as easy as you want to make it.

You can either learn RSL (Robot Scripting Language) as you go, or simply allow the mechanics to generate a script for you. You can be a "loner" when you enter Arena's to compete your droid, or you can join a corporation and have "team mates".

You choose an arena that represents competition for approval of the city that it's in. You can either attempt to be the only survivor left with the doll, or try to code your droid to grab the doll and hang onto it in a dark corner somewhere until the time is up, and win the city that way. If you are a member of a corporation, the city pays it's taxes to your corporation. If you are a loner, as it stands right now, there are no benefits for having won the city except for the scoring. I understand this may change for next Season.

It's a blast. You can join arena's every three hours or just a few times a day. It takes as much time as you decide you want to take. In 5 minutes you can repair the droid, load up your script of choice, choose an Arena, maybe place a few bets and log out. You can come back in three hours and see how your droid did and if you won any bets. You can spy on other droid captains or corporations. You can invest your resources into research, covert operations or pulling in credits. It's all up to you.

It doesn't hurt to check it out. I was skeptical at first, but now I love it!

The season actually ends on the 10th, this coming Friday. We will be down for a short time as we bring a new server online and then we'll re-open registrations for the next season which will begin on the 13th of October.

The next season will be pretty much like this one was with some minor fixes going on during it. During the next few months we'll be working on the next major revision to DA to fine tune it and test it to make sure everything works as expected and that version of the game will then be brought out after the beginning of the New Year.

We want to thank all of our Skotos members for giving us a try, and from what we've seen it's been a good arragement so far for both sides. We look forward to seeing you all in the new season to come and the seasons beyond that.
