It appears that the newswire has completely vanished.

That happened in game 610 last week... apparently some new game bug has cropped up? Shannon?

It's actually a very old bug that's been around in Hegemony since it was Space Empires. I'm quite surprised it's cropped up twice in quick succession.
I believe I now know a fix and will make time to implement it within the week.
As it was I was forced to revert about 6 hours to the last backup, since some fleet movements were lost too.

Amazingly enough, it seems to have just happened again. A moment ago it was fixed, now it's gone again.

Sigh. Rolled back again.
I'm guessing this is an old locking file problem & will do my best to fix it tomorrow.
However, just in case if *you* happened to be doing something just before the game broke each time, especially if it was something with the new advanced order system, let me know.
(Probably not the case, but best to check bases when something new has recently been installed.)

Hmm... I hadn't thought of that.

Consider that a compliment.

Wow. It's not usual for someone to spend that kind of money this early in the game without a compelling reason. Who did you insult?

The odd thing is, I didn't insult anyone... It was probably the only person I didn't have an NAP with though;)
I'll just sit back and hope.

A GNN (Galactic News Network) Special Report comes over the newswire:
"An anonymous source in the Ramenese Department of Acquisition informed us today that in 48 hours' time, several crack teams of interior decorators will be sent as envoys to the frontier planets of the Crag-Ramen border zone. These highly skilled professionals will assist the Cragians in renovating their under-utilized properties so they are suitable for habitation by our pasta citizenry."
"No timetable for completion of the project has been given, but insiders say the RID squad (Ramenese Interior Decorators) work efficiently in even the most primitive environments, regardless of how unskilled the local labor force might prove to be. 'They make the people on Trading Spaces look like complete amateurs,' quipped one insider familiar with RID's qualifications. 'Those backward, jerkwater planets will be ready for Ramen occupat... er, tenants, in no time at all'."
"Thus far no official from the Crag government has commented on the generosity of the Ramen government's benevolent gesture. We will continue to report on this story as details develop."

In our unceasing mercy, our forces have spared one in every three inhabitants of Mdubla from a righteous death by our holy flame. Instead of the death they so richly deserve for the loss of our innocent families, they shall instead be put to work in the factories for the rest of their heathenous lives.
All hail the benevolence of our mighty ruler, and bow to the Holy Chicken!!!
Or, you don't have to if you don't want to.
well, that's game. I guess there could be a few last minute planets between me and Caiaph but I dont expect much... This was fun, good playing everyone... except what's his face who was a no show.

I was in no position to actually rock your base, but I thought I'd have some fun anyways. Nice playing.
