Exactly how much of our information has Skotos shared with 4-Point Games? I, personally recieve enough spam mail in my e-mail without the people from 4-point games selling off my e-mail address and whatnot.

Although I'm very curious about the answer, I can at least provide a reason why that clause is added. Certain spy actions intercept messages & scripts & private forum posts.

We haven't shared any information other than the name of your Skotos account, for reporting purposes.

In some cases an associate game does ask for an email address. We do NOT share out user email addresses, but DO create special Skotos email addresses that bounce the mail from us to the currently registered address, thus allowing them to tell you about what's going on in their games, but ensuring you won't get continued email after leaving Skotos. (If an associate were ever to abuse email addresses, we could just turn off the whole forwarding setup for that pseudo-domain and all email would instantly start bouncing.)

About emails and all that. I tried registering for a forum account with their "monsternet" thing. And it never sent me an email so I could complete the process. Anyone else able to register for their forums? Probably just my lousy email losing it somewhere along the way.

Um, I had difficulty with the email they DID send me, the first time. I re-registered and it went through fine the second time. And yep, you bet I posted!

I went over to re-register and thought, on a whim, that I might try logging in. BING! Log in successful. Strange, cause I didn't get the email deal, and I had assumed there was a lil' registration code type thing. hehe. Guess not. Thanks for making me think to go back and try.

Now if I can just get build good droid to blast your icy weapons off faster than you can blow mine off... I'll be in good shape. Bout lvl 12, best watch out! ;)

I got the equivalent of a wide eyed stare when I mentioned Skotos in team chat.

I ended up with Overkill due to the global chat room. Folks over at DA2 are very VERY helpful and I love the newbie help chat room. Vern and the other staff members knew what Skotos was, but no one else I encountered did.

I understand Wargames has Skotos members, as does Meridian Div and EOTG. Overkill just has a "token" Skotos in it. Some level 13 (leveled today) girl with an icy stare. ;)

(Psst. It's not the eq, hon. It's the script. Please note that Overkill has two very good script writers in it. :D)

See, before lvl12 it's near useless. And untill 16 it's no good as a ally checker (LRID). But, I'm 12 now, new droide, and I'm trying it out again, less modified. Actually I think I'll test it straight out of the box for this first run. The LRID codes and ally checking should just be ignored. So as long as I'm not in an arena with a teamate, I should be good.

Well for next season, I know that I would like to be with a few people I've come to know and respect within my own corp. But-- it would be lovely to have an all Skotos Corp. I'd be torn with indecision. I really like my team mates. They aren't "hardcore" they just know how to have fun. :)

As for the rsl, Ummmm...heh. My tutor is currently unable to frequent his pc, and truthfully, I'm pretty swamped with RL activity as well. But I know that whatever in a script can't be used, will be ignored, so I guess that would be safe enough. I've never tried the straight Fractic. He, uh...updated his here and there. *grin*

I just seached back into older posts here and found this one.

I would like to address this, at least to the best of my knowledge anyway, on how we handle this.

In the past DroidArena has not sold off it's email list to anyone to my knowledge. As a member of 4 Point Games, Inc. it is also not our intent to sell or share anyone's email/contact info with anyone outside of our organization. We do take everyone's privacy seriously and know how much people hate to get spam.

We will use it to send out our newsletter/announcements and things like that, but outside of that we have no intention of using anyones email/contact info beyond that. If you receive something from us that you don't want let us know and we'll remove you from receipt of those items.

I hope this addresses this issue in addition to Shannon's posting regarding this.

Hello all, I am the CEO of 4 Point Games, Inc. my DroidArena account name/alias is Webbed.
addressing the email addresses.
1. as Shannon pointed out, we do not have Skotos members email addresses at all.
2. i have controlled the email addresses for DroidArena, even before being owned by 4 Point Games, Inc. the addresses are not for sale, under any circumstances. Even if in the future the game itself is sold, if I do not have explicit contract, stating the same "Email addresses will NOT be sold under any circumstances", the email addresses in possession at that time will not go with the sale. If we do obtain the email addresses of Skotos members, they will be under the same rules as everyone else, and will not be released to anyone. As Sisyphus stated to his knowledge, email addresses have not been released to anyone. I'd like to reiterate that, not only to his knowledge, but, since i control them all, I know for fact those addresses have not been released to anyone outside of 4 Point Games, Inc.
3. as Sisyphus said in his post, we do email our members a weekly newsletter, which actually is a check box that 'can' be checked when registering. and newsletters are ONLY sent to those who check the box, the box is NOT checked by default. other items we send to the email addresses we have on file is, new season news, when a new season starts, we send an email to all addresses, for this list, all that is necessary is a request for removal, and it is promptly removed.

Forums, we do not use the forums email addresses for anything at all, if you use an email address there that happens to be same as skotos email thats your call, makes no difference to us. we dont use those emails for any other purpose besides confirming the email when you sign up, and possibly other items that you set for your preferences for the forums, such as emailing you when you have a PM or something to that effect. another thing for the forums, if you register there, do NOT forget your password, it is not recoverable, I cant even read the password since it is encrpted by the system.
I noticed one of you had a problem registering on the forums, and later just was able to get in, for some reason that I havent figured out yet, I have to go in and approve every registration, not sure why, so i do this every few days, and forget often. so, if you wait too long, feel free to email me.

i'd like to suggest that if you havent already, please come visit us in our IRC channels, simply click on the G;obal Chat link on your menus. There, if you have a problem you can usually quickly get in contact with an admin. the admins are Webbed, Dogbert, Trat, V4mPire, Snowman, Brezhonneg, vern, Zappy, Rapaxus. maybe one or two more that i'm not thinking of. hollar at one of those if you see them online, if they dont respond within a few minutes, hollar at another.
