I was wondering. I am bucking for a spot on the Skotos Seven and was wondering does the server support Flash and all the things it can do.

I have a craps utility that I would love to use for SF1849 or may-be some other things to liven up the game world. All discussion of Flash being used in Skotos should go under this thread.

Oh goodie. I use Flash, too. Flash can do cgi, it just can't store info between sessions. So if the Skotos system could then take the info sent to it by Flash and incorporate it into the environment, then you could definitely have a craps game with winnings (and losses) showing up in the character's total.

First, let me apologize for the tardiness of my reply. It's been busy.

Technology-wise, yes, you will be able to use a Flash control as part of interface to your game, yes. Design-wise, yes, if Flash is a part of what you think would make a good game, then I say by all means go ahead and include it in your proposal.

That said, I don't know how Flash works. If you have a craps utility, I assume there is at least some component of interactivity, but I have no clue if and how accessible this interactivity is.

If the player wins some money playing craps then one would imagine this wealth is reflected in the game proper, which of course means the outcome of the game must somehow be communicated to the Skotos client core component -- the bit that keeps the network link to the server.

To summarize, it is definitely possible to use Flash, and if Flash itself is up to the task, it is possible to use Flash in complex, interactive ways.
