Just to give the GMs some more ideas, in case they missed anything, what other recipes would you like to see tailors be able to make? :)
Personally I'd like to see gloves, Stola's, and Palla's. :) Thats just me though.

Stockings would be an addition for ladies.
Neckpouches would be nice.
Elbow-length gloves, yeah, there you go. =)
Oo, and just a question if any GM's are reading, is it possible to mix and mosh colors when making garments? Say a white cape front, and a black cape back? Or anything else along those lines that need fronts and backs sewn together?

Perhaps its just me, but I would like to get things that are worn, or imperfect. For instance, a robe worn thin at the elbows, or some such. I am a crusader against everything looking new.
Cheers,

That would make it so much easier to know who to dislike. ;)
And I want my silly hat. :D

I'd like to see the following:
1) cloths (For cleaning weapons/armor/messes etc.)
2) gloves
3) Backpacks
4) Sagums
6) Hats
I think boots and gauntlets would be more of a leatherwork and less tailoring. It would depend on the type of boot you are interested in.

Canvas for making sturdy backpacks and sagums.

I believe that skilled tailors will be able to make their own patterns. Rather than the GMs making all of the patterns, why not wait until the tailors are good enough to make these patterns themselves?

Just about anything monogramed would be nice. Espeicially if it were not just "names". It would be nice to give something to Gwendolyn that said, "Home Girl" , something to Jessa that said "Forever friends" to Tovania saying, "My Favorite Flirt", and a cape to Shade saying "Dancing Hearts Delight."
I think the idea that different tailors got the ability to do different things. This will almost guarantee that more than one tailor will survive the fall off.
Personally I like the idea of specializing within a field ans wish the concept would be carried further. Perhaps one tailor would only work in leather, and another cloth, etc.

Eventually, we'll be able to make things 'billowing' or 'skintight' and things such as that. Same with embroidering.

Hey Didius, you should take a look at my dingy cloak sometime IG...
"This ragged cloak is emroidered with a large flame, and is covered with noticeable grass, ash, dirt, and soot stains." :)
As for recipes i'd like to see...
Gloves.
Night caps.
Gadaene hats.

I'd like to see socks, or stockings. Something to cover the feet while lounging around the domus.
I believe it was common practice in Ancient Rome to remove one's sandals prior to entering a home. The host would then provide footwear to their guests. I could see woolens for wintertime and maybe cotton or something light for summer.
Just a thought,

Undies for both men and women...dresses and stolas and patterns that will work with the origional recipes but are "tight", "flowing", "fluttering" ect.

And add muslin to the list of materials. Its softer, less scratchy than homespun.

Just bumping this thread to the top of the list with some more ideas.
I would love to have recipes for some more items for the home. Not that towels and blankets are exactly selling like hotcakes, but it would be nice to be able to make things like cushions, pillows, curtains, etc.
I would also love it if Timmis sold yellow cloth... my poor little tailor's favorite color, and it's not in stock.
My top three votes, though, would have to be:
1. Stolas
2. Tunics and/or Shirts
3. Gloves

My suggestion is that tailors should be able to use hides or pelts (whatever you wanna call'em) from animals that have been killed and make clothing from them. Tailors could be given the skill 'Skinning' so they could skin the fur from the animals and hope to skin better than someone who clumsily removes it. With the introduction of 'game' animals being put into the game, it'd be really neat to see tailors being able to do this. Being able to make bear-hide capes, or rabbit-fur gloves or whatever. Maybe a tailor could finally make Andrew a bunny costume so the rabbits wouldn't hurt'em ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that is exactly what the tanning skillset will be able to do.

POCKETS! Pockets on everything! Pants, Togas, Cloaks, Vests, Shirts, Tunics, Breeches, Leggings, etc, etc. A little place in a pair of boots for a knife! Just enough room in a hat for an important piece of parchment! A spot in your gloves for a lockpick! POCKETS, POCKETS, POCKETS! :D  :p

I believe it will be a completely different skill set. *considers* Caprarius as the teacher, possibly?
What I'm curious about is, would making clothes out of fur fall under Tailoring, Leatherworking, or something completely different?
