Is there support of an easy way for persons with some slight interest to get a feel for the game without having to go through the rigors of registering? This is common in MUSHs. I have had several people interested in checking out this place but are turned off by it because there is not an obvious way to get a feel for what makes this place special. So do guest accounts exist and I have merely missed them or are they not supported and why? I think they are good for any online game.

We do not offer guest accounts. The reason is because of method for signing up and participating in Skotos games we need to confirm the validity of the email address we have been given and the player's age before they begin play in the Castle.
I am sad to hear that friends of yours have yet to try us out because of this and ask if you have any ideas of how we could make log in easier for those who want to just check us out. Brainstorming, we have thought of asking new folks to use a particular name only identifying them as an observer, or perhaps to investigate making our start story easier to use with those who just want to get in and go. Any more thoughts or suggestions?

Well, here is my two cents, but I am no programer and do not know the intricacies of what would be involved in establishing this.
My idea is you would have to set up 30-40 names that would be specifically available for like the first 24-48 hours and are only accessable after the confirmation email has been sent back to you guys.
Perhaps on the form that is submitted to you, you ask if they are just wishing to check out the game. If they select yes, then you can generate/send them one of your selected names that would allow them to test out the game and see if they would enjoy it. After the 24-48 hour period, they would be sent to another screen that would ask them if they would like to continue with their own created character, and then they could go through the process of creation you currently have.
But I think that might cause a lot of work programing.
