What does "full dress" mean, exactly? Is it just dressing nicely? So where are we gonna get "nice" clothes - besides brocade gowns. (Sorry, guys, this is a mostly girls post - although, if there are any fashionable guys in Marrach, feel free to reply.)
Speaking of which, in the IC board, there was a very long post on Etiquette, and there was a part about the sumptuary laws. It said that non-nobles, etc., are allowed to wear worsted and lace. First off, what is worsted? Secondly, where are we to get these? Are these in the future plans for Marrach? Are they gonna come in later, like the brocade did?
I dunno, just some thoughts. It'd be nice to have something else for the ball.

I think we were supposed to use that merchant guy in the tent last night to obtain proper clothing. My question is, does a Watchman's uniform count as full dress?

Master Ali Jahib did indeed have a selection of clothing appropriate for the ball available this past Sunday. For those of you who weren't able to be there (or who weren't able to wait to see him), more clothing will be available from the tailors and seamstresses sometime this week. We will make an announcement when, where, and how they will be ready.

As for the Watch uniform, personally, I'd say it qualifies as formal--though wanting to wear something special for a big event is understandable too. Perhaps we need to talk to Corporal Petris about special dress uniforms... http://www.skotos.net/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, dress uniforms for parties or formal ceremonies like inductions would absolutely rock!

Arr, why don't they wear weasel skins, it would be more appropriate.

Weasel and ermine? On the same outfit? Don't be gauche.

The opposite of "bested"?

Seriously, here's a definition...

wor·sted
Pronunciation: 'wus-t&d, 'w&r-st&d
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Worsted (now Worstead), England
Date: 13th century
Definition: a smooth compact yarn from long wool fibers used especially for firm napless fabrics, carpeting, or knitting; also : a fabric made from worsted yarns

I did a quick net search on 'worsted' and it can mean alot of different types of fabric! I'm guessing since it's a trim that it's some kind of wool or cotton fabric with a different kind of weave that makes it fancier than regular broadcloth. http://www.skotos.net/ubb/smile.gif
