I'm pleased to see you willing to cooperate, and I look forward to seeing how this will work. Thank you for taking us into consideration.

(By the way... I wasn't demanding that Sadpeau walk up to the Watch and turn himself in. It's when he is in a room with two fully-armed Watchmen arresting him that it's appropriate, instead of just logging out. Running from the Law is fine, it's even fun for both the criminal and the Law, but once you're caught, PLEASE play that you're caught. I look forward to seeing you in the castle.)

Sadpeau will surrender to the Watch through Margaret. It is through her wisdom and good RP skills that he gives his consent for capture. It is she and she ALONE that this be given credit to.

I have read many things by many players who are skilled and not-so (inexperienced) in RP. I have played for 20+ years. I do not wish to ruin others times, recreation or RP. I have created a character that had to appear bad to assist another in trouble. Things got out of hand quickly and so it has come to this. Though they are out of the trouble they were in, I am now in deep.

As far as someone stating that I would be "ostrasized" he couldn't stop any amount of my characters from coming forth and being bad. Though the problem is simple for the simple-minded, that is his problem not all of yours. Don't begin to tell me how to role play. There are many styles and many reasons for the way my character(s) acts.

I wish to play in good faith. I think this game and its rules should evolve to allow for many changes. It has great potential.

Sadpeau and myself apologize to those who were offended (players and characters).

Sadpeau will only turn himself in to the Watch in the presence of Margaret. It can happen, it will happen...make it so.

Fyrman,

At first I was merely frustrated that the first two times my character chased yours, yours eluded capture by you simply logging off. I was able to work around this in-game by dismissing it as Sadpeau knowing of secret passages that were unknown and unavailable to any other castle inhabitant.

Then, in an OOC chat with you last week, you called me (the player) simple-minded.

I'm not sure what I did to warrant this, but I am sure it is undeserved. I have no interest whatsoever in RPing with you, be it an arrest, a duel, or another chase.

I only hope that if you continue to play, the game becomes large enough that we don't have to interact.

Wow Monkey...that is fairly harsh...
I have spoken with Sadpeau IC and OOC and feel that he deserves another chance...perhaps Philo could find it in his heart to play along one last time?

I am sorry that your OOC conversation got personal, that is wrong...Dont condone that...but,I just ask that you give it one more shot...if he doesnt play nice...out of my hands.

Me too.

I . . . feel that he deserves another chance

He's welcome to as many chances as he cares to take. I'm stating a preference to not be present he does.

I'm here to have fun, and to RP with other players. When someone who has never spoken more than a few words to me calls me simple-minded, I feel hurt and angry, and I think justifiably so. This is not something I look for in the people I choose to play with.

I've already stated that I hope there is room enough in the game for both of us. Hopefully, as Skotos grows, we will be drawn to different games that suit our different needs.

Well, Margaret, even you were disappointed in what happened when I finally arrested Sadpeau. At the end, he got all ticked at me because I couldn't open the dungeon door (come on, there eas no Skotos staff and Watchmen can't use the dungeon yet). I then said that I would email him, so that we could discuss exactly how to roleplay things, and that I would contact Skotos CE and Monkey to figure out how best to handle it. He told me to forget it and that he would be back when the beta was over, then logged out.

See... he's not willing to work with people, and doesn't know how to work with plots, and isn't willing to make the effort. At least he wasn't insulting this time, but he is still a difficult person OOC to deal with, so I stand by Monkey.

And the saga continues...

I just felt the need to respond to the last message, so here goes.

Because Zero and Sadpeau were the only two characters at the scene, it comes down to his word and mine. You've heard his, now read mine.

Fact: There would not have been an arrest if FYRMAN/Sadpeau felt the need to atone for past mishaps, errors of judgement, complete failures to play & communicate. I did.

Fact: I have posted on more than one bulletin board an apology to players and characters.

Fact: I have multiple witnesses to my apologies IC showing good faith and follow-up to what I said I would do.

Fact: I was surprised to find that a watchman doesn't have the keys to the dungeon. "...got all ticked off..." far exceeds what really happened or how I felt. I did not curse IC or OOC.

Fact: I thought for the number of people I did offend, one night in the dungeon (Time not logged on to play didn't serve the purpose of punishment befitting the crimes.) I personally thought I would do more time than that to show willingness to succumb to the law and the role-playing society as it stands in Skotos.

Fact: I don't give my e-mail to anyone when requested. I guard it, especially against someone who obviously spends more time in Skotos than myself. I have a family to support and work three jobs to support them leaving little time to interact with others.

Fact: I have enjoyed meeting, playing with many people, 95% of those I have met.

Fact: If Philo wants what he wants, then he should have it, though it won't affect my gameplay. I have changed. I have proven it. I have documentation to prove it and witnesses to the same affect.

Fact: Thank you Margaret for leading to the light and assisting me to mend my ways. I only wish I could meet you in person to thank you personally.

If you Zero wish to dispute these facts, go ahead, it won't bother me. I have new scenes to roleplay, new people to meet, new adventures to partake.

Thank you to Skotos for providing this forum.

Fyrman...

If you notice, I said that you were not insulting this time. Which was true, you did leave without any of the nastiness that you showed last time, which I appreciated. That was why I was sure to point that out in my post.

BUT, you only went along up to a point. The email address was only a suggestion, I was trying to think of a way that we could figure out how to handle Sadpeau's imprisonment. I understand you can't be on during the regular prime-time, and thought it might be a way to contact you so that we could work this out. You did not stay around long enough to figure it out. You simply quit without any further word, which I found rude and very antisocial, since I was sincerely trying to figure out a way for us to determine how long we should make Sadpeau's stay, what would be the consequences for him, if any, and I wanted to be able to inform you of anything the Watch, or Luanfal, or whoever determines your fate would decide.

I was really hoping to be civil on this, and was very dismayed to hear you say that you were disgusted with the Watch's ability to use the dungeon (how many times do we have to explain that to you before you get it through your skull?) and you weren't going to be back for a month, which frankly was childish. If you will not work with us beyond your token gesture, then I don't have any interest in working with you.

Bucause Fyrman, when you get down to it, this is a social game. You don't have to have a social character, but you need to be a social player. IF players can't work together, the game won't work. I hope you change your mind and are willing to listen to us. If so, let me know in this thread, and I will discuss with Philo, or Petris or Launfal or whoever how to do your incarceration.
