A note to all players.

We are going though our database renaming all character names we have found to be inappropriate names for gameplay. In the next few days, if you find one of your characters have been renamed, please let us know what you would like your new character name to be and we'll change it.

Thank you,

A quick question...

Must new players still fill out the beta test form?

If so, maybe you could add to the form a proposed character name that they intend to log on with. While processing the form then, before sending back the beta phrase, perhaps you can okay the name then. I think that would save a lot of hassle regarding inappropriate names. I think people creating alts understand after their first char what kind of names are appropriate; those just signing up do not.

My 2 cents,
Annie (Illiana)

So does this mean the one who calls himself retribution will no longer be retribution?!?!

Okay, quick question on names...

I know there was Anastacia and Anastasia.
Now there seems to be Illyana as well as Illiana.

Will CE be making newer chars with similar names to older chars change names?

Just wondering.

It would be nice if all the names that are changed bore a tag for a period of time so the other players would know with whom they were dealing, i.e. New Name (old name) ... if that is possible

Yeah, there's also a Seraphina and a Serephina, plus, I think there's an Ariel (sp?) running around still.
It happens all the time. But, personally, I think he's talking about real weird or inappropriate names. I don't think they'll ask Retribution to change his name to 'Retributio' - it ought to be something very different. Like Slinky will now be known as Flaco, type of thing.

Anyway -

As of now, the only name changes going on are to those names that are considered totally inappropriate. There are no other name changes going on, other then the occasional person who comes on with a questionable name that we feel isn't reflective of the Castle Marrach environment.

We aren't changing simular character names. Just like in real life, there will be people with like names in the game. I would invite you all to be sure to examine people, and make sure you know who your talking to, not only by thier name, but by thier description. If you feel someone is intentionally trying to clone/confuse their character with yours, feel free to bring it to the attention of CE (StoryHosts).
