It's interesting how you mentioned the lack of common ailments in online text games. In Castle Marrach it's almost a cliche. People come down with minor sicknesses all the time... In fact, there have been numerous cases where people have had colds, and other people were RPing that they were catching colds from them too. :D
I think that minor illnesses are common in CM because it's a simple excuse for having to miss some event or appointment. "Oh, I can't make the Awakener's meeting because the leg of lamb I ate disagreed with me."
As for the food poisoning thing... Cody almost died when he ate that Raw Potato. But then again, it was human-sized too.
