Love is in the Air of late, and I must know...who is the cutest?
Who is the cutest couple in Marrach? Since so many poll are about lately I'll join in and ask: Who makes you say 'Awww...?"
Think about :
How they compliment each other in looks,
How much they appear to love each other and enjoy each other's company (Opinion...please, stay off me Martel! LOL J/K)
How generally cute it is when they are together. (You know, does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling to see those two lovebirds having fun together?)
Alright, so maybe this is stupid, but I'm interested in what you think! Please Vote !

You forgot one! Santlar and her true love.....herself.

Yep. You forgot lots of couples. Especially my sister's char and her toy-err, I mean boyfriend. You also forgot Darvius and Rogra, whom my character admires, you also forgot Zenaida and Geograd, and many more I know should be noticed.
Yeah if Santlar and Santlar were up there, I would have set up a rally to have everyone vote for them two lovebirds. ;)

I second the vote for Santlar. I've never seen a love truer. She's the only one in the castle who actually deserves that white rose Roxanne is giving out.

The other poll was amusing for the novelty factor, but this one gives me a chance to grumble about something that I can't grumble about IC: a fascination with Romance over Plot.
Rogra and Darvius' IC romance I found interesting; it had real consequences. Rogra was turfed out of the Watch, Darvius was viewed with disdain by the Duellists, and at least one had to deal with personal plot conflicts also. i.e.: Story. This is not the only example, but is one of the few that I've witnessed IC and feel that I'm not revealing secrets.
Contrast this with "It's wonderful. X and myself have started courting (not betrothed, not married) and we want you all to know about our upcoming lifetime of love." Save it until you are IC married and have worked through a few related plot conflicts. {OK, that's a bit over-reacting, but let's back off the equivalent of a full page newspaper ad saying you're on your third date.}
Or, to put it another way, making other players nauseous is not the pinnacle of romantic roleplaying.

Uhm, Nom... just for the record: Officially announcing a courtship is considered to be proper by Marrachian standards (at least OB ones -- has anybody noticed how the IB is much more relaxed?), so I guess people think of it as being a necessary evil...
When in character, I do of course have to forcefully keep myself from writing a reply... For example, I was about to reply to Teria and Stix' post "Well, I am sure you both get what you deserve"... but then, OOCly, I simply don't care enough. Read, mentally erase, grab a cigarette and go on.
However, I do second another sentiment in your post.
The first calendar post has novelty going for it (and a really bizarre leading group too), the second poll was mainly noted for abysmal grouping of seras. This is the third in the span of a few days, and it's mainly annoying... add the polls about supposed guilds, at least one of them, I am sorry to say, made by someone who obviously didn't even bother to read the Player's Guide or simply look over the Guild Pages...
It's getting old. More than that. It's becoming a public nuisance.
Kids, do us all a favour and simply delete the stuff.
Have a nice day.
I hate to add to this but I had to.

there are more than a few romances that are full of plot. I am not going to go into detail but the fact is that most of the time the plot romances are more underspoken becouse they deal with a couple (or more). the rogra/darvius one if more well known becouse of the fact it was widly felt, but I could name a few other people who have had to be very carefull in romance, and who have a huge amount of plot in romances.
I'd like to point out that I chose Ravelyn and Angron since it'd be kinda sad for me to vote for myself.. but OMFG five votes for Yaoi and Prince Bertram?Half the people in the castle don't even know what Bertram looks like let alone what he lookls like with Yaoi (by the way, they don't make a very good couple, I've compared them side by side). Interesting turn of events.. time to talk to the SPs ;)
:D lubberz :D
Yaoi's Player
Kai Lanceaux
Sir Yaoi glides effortlessly to Prince Bertram
Sir Yaoi murmurs to Prince Bertram's ear seductively
Prince Bertram blushes enigmatically
Prince Bertram murmurs to Sir Yaoi's ear alluringly
Sir Yaoi gasps amazedly "i never knew"
Sir Yaoi and Prince Bertram disappear for the next week

Marrach was always intended to have a romance side to it. Some of us may find some of the public posts annoying, just as we might find excessive public displays of affection annoying in real life, but its really a matter of taste, and not something that should be forbidden. Goes back to roleplaying I guess…we all roleplay a little different.

Romantic, as I understand it, means
Tristan and Yseult
Romeo and Juliet
Bonnie and Clyde
not Pam and Bobby Ewing... (does anybody else have this weird sense of finding Cody under the shower as if nothing happened one day?)
Hence I shall repeat:
Romantic is not a synonym for cheesy.
Whereas the Elinore story certainly was romantic, most everyday romance within the castle starts out with both involved behaving like they had found their soulmate and usually ends in meaningless banality, unless one of the two stops playing Marrach and goes out with a bang.
Have a nice day.

For brevity's sake (and don't make me respond with a 10000 character post because I can and will): Opinions are like pouches, everyone has one.
'Have a nice day.'
ohh...... that is a toughy......
Santlar...... or
Ed and Faer...
Santlar...... or Ed and Faer....
tough....
Have to go with Santlar. That is a romance that is just amazing beyond itself! And she does it soooo well too!
Sorry Ed... :D

Wow... One vote for Umi and Lobo, and it's not mine... *glances at her sisters, wondering who is the masochist one who will get a beating for using the adjective 'cute'*
Though, I have to agree with Dariel that we have enough of those polls lately. It was entertaining at first, but it really doesn't bring a lot to the game, not to mention it just make us take more time to look for good posts...
( Yes, I know... this coming from the self-proclaimed Queen of Useless Posts is somewhat scary... So what? Even I can have opinions, right?)
Gaby :p
hey, im not up there! come on... I could get a few votes.
Kyle and Quiet female Servant
Kyle and Mintle
Kyle and Destini
Kyle and Khalea
Kyle and every other woman in the castle...
JK, ive seen the light and stoped my evil ways (for the most part, besides, who has time to flirt?)

LOL! There appears to be some confusion here. The key word here is 'CUTE'. Let me give you the primary definition:
cute
delightfully pretty or dainty.
As well:
voluptous
full of delight or pleasure to the senses
Scaramouche smiles delightedly at the way Kenderaela's pink dress accentuates her voluptous curves while involuntarily rubbing his dainty ear with his dainty hand.
Any questions? No. Good. Vote responsibly now you crazy Marrachians!:D
cute is in the eye of the beholder Scary!

I'm glad I'm not on this list...
I'm wondering what this would look like on the IC board and who'd get killed first by the Prince's Guards.. Yoai or Teria ;)
Lubberz,
kai kai
It was hard, but I picked Abi and Shamus.
Was thinking about Ken-Ken and Scary, but Scary scares Ryot.....
Go fig.

Please take Ravelyn off the poll. I really can't stand to see her paired with the word 'cute'.
AND SANTLAR WINS TENFOLD IN MY OPINION

Ravelyn's cute.. Ravelyn's cute,, sorry, random act of imaturity, and yes yaoi I am now the queen of the forum!!!!! wahahaha
Let it be known... The Yaoi and Prince Bertram thing was and still is a joke. Which Is why I'm worried about the number of votes that particular option has been getting. If you'll notice That grouping is in Second place. Are people really this intent on seeing the MORE THAN HETEROSEXUAL prince get together with Marrach's Cute Fruit? If so, I highly doubt the SPs would oblige. Oh StoryPlotters/Hosts/Guides/Coders ... What's your say on the castle's "need" to see Bertram with another guy ? :D
Lubberz,
Kai Lanceaux : King of the Noise Forum
p.s. There is nothing cute about Ravelyn .. Angorn maybe.. Ravleyn ? Uh unh.
;)
yaoi's a fruit?
Jeez, suprised Ryot or Drahkkil has'nt hit on him. Hahahah
j/k
You must be new in Marrach, let me introduce you to Yaoi: Marrach's Cute Fruit . He's umm whats the word? GAY .

Yaoi can try for the prince as much as anyone can. Don't expect SP support until it gets to the point where the Prince has made up some trumped up charges to get rid of Yaoi and have him beheaded. ;)
The castle doesn't "need" to see anyone with anyone else. I think you might find courtship within the Inner Bailey a bit different from the Outer. (At least it should be *nudge nudge*)
Also, me feeling the need to be way to serious for this particular forum, no need to email the SPs asking if you can do a romantice plot with the Prince, try it and see. Much more rewarding (in my opinion) to RP the scenes and see where it goes over scripting something out. Or just e-mail me, since I'm the silly SP opening his mouth on this forum.

From what little of this I have encountered/done in game I have to agree. Inner baily people realise just how much time we have here. And oddly enuf becouse of the small amout of people in the inner baily, the rules in a new courtship play very oddly.:)
