To the residents of Docktown,

Long ago, there used to be a yearly masquerade ball, to welcome new friends, and to dance with old companions. It is by my wish that this tradition start again, once more.

Three weeks from now, on Mercredi, the sixth day of Flower. The year will be 882 Apres le Miracle, all those wishing to come to such an event may do so.

It will be within the Ballroom of the Maison de Chats. Lady Persia and Sir Guillaume have kindly agreed to provide the food and drink, and to that end, I will be taking orders for gowns that any of you may require.

If anyone is interested in helping organize furnishings, or wish to contribute in other ways, feel free to contact me. Also, masks will be available, and it is my hope that those talented seamstresses will be able to construct them in the near future.

I hope, beyond hope, to see you all there!

Signed,

Mistress Luna

[OOC: This will begin at 7 EST on Saturday, 6th of May]

[ooc stuff:

This looks great, :) I love the idea. I personally would like to see the masks given out for this event change the appearance of the wearer, so that you didn't know who that person was a first glance. Maybe put in a skill check to use observation on an examine to get their true name. Ie: The Masked Unicorn. He looks to be Garv the Armadillo. - Or somesuch.

Just a thought /ooc]

They will (hopefully) be fully craftable masks which will appear InGame prior to the event with enough time for players to experiment. They are designed to hide the wearer in some ways yet not others. Wait and see.

OOC:

My apologies for missing this tonight. Was too early for me to attend when I just got home 30 mins after it started.

How did things go? Anything interesting happen?

Not much happened, not very many people showed.

Probably all in CM right now.

Ayla got snatches away by real life, and Sangia's comp got snatched...so Liaron wasn't going alone. Sorry. :P

Would have had Tariris go, but I got home from work just as it was starting and I realized I was to damn tired to having any fun at that moment.

Sounds to me like we should have a raincheck.

*poke* somebody set a new date and time? Maybe this comming week.

(I suggest around 11pm-12am, as that seems to be one of our major times after people get bored with CM)

This isn't a promise, but there's a possibility we might do it again sometime. There's always that possibility.

Or... Maybe a few players can get together and set something up...

A thought on the masks...

Why do they keep you from seeing the character's height?

Because it's easier to just replace the players description with "A masked <animal>" than to extract certain properties and re-describe the character.

short answer: laziness & limited coding time.

Fair enough. I'll be quiet now...
