(IC) A Notice from the Merchants

A town crier has been posted to related the following information to the public:

The guild of trade and commerce asks that a informal guild council meeting occur in the market of docktown on Jeudi, the fourteenth day of Yule. The year 883 Apres le Miracle. [ooc: Sat Jan 13th, approximately 6pm EST]

All members of the guild are asked to attend, and all others are encouraged, espically guildleaders and house representatives.

Topics will be:
Members of the Guild Council, formal representatives and further meetings.
Guild teachers, and what will be offered to the public.
Price guidelines, and how each craft and service should make their profit.
Goals of each guild or house, both immediate and long term.
Guild relations and agreements.
Trading tables, need, and discussion.
Questions and recruitment.

As chairman of the Guild Council, if there is to be discussion about the self same organization, perhaps I can be of assistance. I will endeavor to attend this meeting.

The market place does not seem to be a particularly appropriate forum for discussion. I will enquire about arranging rooms that may be more comfortable.

I have arranged for the Paradise Bathing House to be opened for this meeting. I find that discussions taking place in a sauna are always more pleasant. The steam helps to clear the air between guilds. If you'll excuse the pun.

To find the bathhouse, go to market circle in newtown, and continue north. It is the large blue building. I will have it unlocked when we are gathered outside.

If, for some reason, the bathhouse cannot be opened, we will instead retire to a restaurant to conduct business.

Attire is, of course, casual.

[OOC note: Although people bathe in the bathhouse, it is *not* a sexual place. In fact it is *extremely* impolite to display any sexual actions while in a public bathhouse. PCs will all be given a towel which they can wear while in the bathhouse. etc.]

The bookings have been finalized. The Paradise Bathing House will be awaiting our arrival on Jeudi.

I propose we all meet outside the bathing house, which is just to the north of Market Circle in newtown. It is a large blue building, hard to miss.

Dress lightly, for obvious reasons. When you arrive there, you will be given a bag for your belongings, which members will mind, so you need not fear theft.

As scrolls will become ruined by the steam, make sure you have memorized any important information beforehand.
