Samedi, 3rd Day of Sap, Year 883 Apres le Miracle.

[OoC: Saturday, March 3rd, 2007]

In thanks to the people of Triskellian for their support and business, and to attempt to alleviate pressure and fears of the people in light of recent disturbing events, Master Trader Harken Zeiss is hosting, fully from his own resources, a Carnival of Culture.

There will be good food and merry drink free for all who attend! Also, each attendee who donates a fee of support will receive a finely crafted mask as a favor and thank you. Musicians and other artists will be providing entertainment, and wonderful music for dancing.

There are plans in place to host a Martial Tournament, and those who place in the tournament will receive a wonderful custom-crafted prize. (Prize will be announced after the tournament has completed.)

New slaves will be arriving for sale or rent from Master Zeiss' Zeiss Slavery Company. These slaves will be serving the refreshments, and holding other forms of entertainment.

Miss Fia of House Rinaldi is invited to hold the position of Guest of Honor, and Master Zeiss will be acting as the Master of Ceremonies.

Day 1 was a mild success, so let's all look forward to making Day 2 much more enjoyable!

There will be a martial tournament mid-day tomorrow [OoC: sometime in the afternoon/evening, EST]. First and second prize winners for the tournament will be rewarded custom-crafted prizes! And the entry fee is a meagre 7 denarii! See Master Zeiss for further details.

Later in the night, the event will come to a close with a wonderful dance! All are invited to come to the dance, dress is suggested as semi-formal to formal, but none will be turned away. Bring your mate for a wonderful night of romance on the dance floor!

The slaves will remain in the Market Circle of New Town, and will continue to serve drinks and food. Master Zeiss has a collection of masks for those who wish to have a souvenir to commemorate the Carnival. Get your mask for a simple donation of any amount you choose. Proceeds will be used to help fund an Orphanage to care for the children of Triskellian.

If any of the slaves serving you during the Carnival catch your interest, please contact an employee of the Zeiss Slavery Company, and discussion can be made to consider purchase. Prices are fair, and attainable for any income level.

The Martial Tournemant was held on the Second Day of the Carnival! It was a grand event, indeed.

In round one:
Kaze bested Lord Mercutio in a fight to submission with rapiers.
Lucius rather easily claimed victory from Jahari in a spar to submission.
In a intense and close spar, Cullan was able to force Gina's submission.
Little mouse Whie used his speed to great advantage and bested Vex in their spar.

In round two:
In a horribly bloody fight to submission, Kaze fired over ten shoots at Lucius. Eight of them struck the hulking bear before the blood loss and pain rendered him momentarily unconcious, and he lost the bout.
A break was then had to treat Lucius' extensive injuries.
Whie's speed did nothing to help him avoid taking an incapacitating bruise to the chest from Cullan.

The Final Round:
With a single deft blow, Cullan was able to render Kaze incapable of fighting, and claim victory as the Champion of the first ever Carnival Tournament.

Cullan and Kaze, first and second place, were entitled to their first and second place prizes. Kaze opted to give his to Lucius, in honor of the bear's noble fight.

Congratulations to Cullan, Carnival Champion!

All money gathered as entry fee for the tournament is to be donated to the Triskellian Orphanage. In total, we were able to collect a full seventy denarii to donate to helping the children of the city! Thank to all who participated!

Due to the length of the Tournament, the Dance is being postponed to a third and final day for the Carnival.

Let's say good-bye to this fun event with a grand celebration of music, dance, and fellowship in the ballroom of the Midnight Manor! Again, food and drink will be offered free of charge. Dress is suggested as semi-formal to formal, but none will be turned away. Make sure to bring that someone special and enjoy the night of dancing!
