A new feature-set has been added for the Alice client, and newly developed Zealotry client. In order to gauge any potential problems with the setup and assess its impact on server performance, the features will be run through a restricted beta test for a period of around a week. This beta test will be available to premium members only.

In order to participate, please log into Skotos as normal via http://skotos.net, then choose one of the following links depending upon your browser.

Internet Explorer users should use the Alice client:
http://tec.skotos.net/AliceTest/opener.html

Mozilla/Firefox users should use the Zealotry client:
http://tec.skotos.net/ZealotryTest/launch.html

There are several elements that may require attention.

The Macro Bar: This is a set of 15 buttons that serve a similar function to the Java client's macro bar.

The Compass: The compass includes the 8 cardinal directions, as well as up and down buttons. Each will be highlighted when you are able to travel in the direction.

The Lighting Indicator: The sunburst located behind the compass will vary in intensity depending upon the lighting in your current location.

The Status Bars: These bars will display your Health, Fatigue, Encumbrance and Satiation.

The Map: The map will show areas in your immediate locality, and will refresh as you move between areas. The red area is your current location, areas similar to your current location will be highlighted green, and all other areas will be white. Areas will vary in shade depending on the light level present in the area. The map can be turned off using the option in the 'prefs' menu.

The Map Links: Small links are displayed between each area. White links represent directions you can see through. Black links represent areas that you cannot see through, because the way is blocked, or it is too dark. Rooms on the other side of an 'invalid' link will not be shown-- You cannot 'see' through closed doors, or along pitch black tunnels. The map links can be turned off using the option in the 'prefs' menu.

If you experience problems or strangeness with the map, it would help greatly if you could send in an @report from the location that you are experiencing the anomaly. Other non-sensitive bugs may be posted in this (http://forum.skotos.net/showthread.php?t=60966) thread, or submitted by priority @report.

The Alice client works only with IE, and only on Windows.
The Zealotry client is an add-on for Firefox and should work for any platform on which Firefox works (so Windows, OS X, etc). For TEC you need the 0.7.11 version or newer. The 0.7.11.1 version can be downloaded here (http://www.skotos.net/Zealotry). You want the zealotry-build.xpi download, not the zealotry-current.xpi download.
