Mistress Ermengarde

Sung to the tune of Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson"

We bow to you, Mistress Ermengarde
Tailors love you more than you can know . . . Oh wo wo!
And if you please, Mistress Ermengarde
Teach me all your tricks on how to sew,
Oh oh oh . . . oh oh oh!

We'd like to learn to weave a bit of fabric for a-whiles
We'd like to learn but can't without your help
Look around you, all you see are such pathetic smiles
Frown at formal gowns until we meekly yelp

And here's to you Mistress Ermengarde
Sara loves you more than you can know . . . Oh wo wo!
Like my chemise, Mistress Ermengarde?
Duren's dying skills went up, Hooray!
Hey hey hey . . . hey hey hey!

Learning in a sitting room where everybody goes
Sewing little scraps into a red cape
It's a little secret, just for Emengarde to show,
Most of all you've got to hide it from Ser Kyle!

Here's strength to you, Mistress Ermengarde
Favor those you like who curtsey low . . . Oh wo wo!
Have I displeased Mistress Ermengarde?
Heavens! Look I'm late for class today!
Hey hey hey . . . hey hey hey!

Sitting on a sofa with an ever-cloudy view
Huffing when their dress-code isn't ship-shape
Tisk about it, cluck about it, if you need to be
Marrach's own self-certified costume Nazi!

What have you taught dear Isaria?
Apprentices get russet dyes from you, woo woo woo
What's that you say, Mistress Ermengarde?
Sera Ketz has left and gone away
(Hey hey hey . . . hey hey hey)

ROFLMAO!!!

Again, you just created a new success in the Castle Marrach non-official song book, Gareth. It's great! http://www.skotos.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Another hit from the castle's most prolific parodiest! Gonna sing it to Mistress Ermengarde? Bet she'd make you a fine burlap suit in return! http://www.skotos.net/ubb/tongue.gif

Yet another masterpiece in the world of Garethian parodies.

I just have to say that I think Peter Corless is just a pseudonym for Wierd Al Yankovic! Wierd Al plays our game! http://www.skotos.net/ubb/wink.gif

BTW it's 'Weird' Al
Just pointing out the spelling rule for this one. It is I before E except after C ... or anytime you will actually use this silly rule.

A bit different of a style, but definitly worthy of the praise. You do a great job with these. I'd dust off my pen and try one, but nobody would know the songs I would use ... and I'm HORRIBLE at poetry and the like.

I just remember that the word "weird" is spelled in a weird way. http://www.skotos.net/ubb/wink.gif

Is "parodiest" a word? <rifles dictionary franticly> Ah, here we are. As in: "Wow, Peter! That was the parodiest parody I've ever seen!"

I'm not a fan of poetry on the boards, but I like the songs. Keep them coming.

I don't know about 'parodiest,' but there seems to be a new adjective: 'Garethian'...

:: smile amusedly ::

Gramercy, all!

:: bow, bow ::

Radorcha logs the idea "Adverb: Garethian. i.e to do something in a true knightly fashion, or to use words and phrases that nobody who has been alive in the last 200 understands."

What in the name of zombie Jesus is going on with the emoticons?

I look at the older posts, and they're all...links to the emoticons.

I need sleep.

The forums were changed at some point, so were the emoticons.

Don't ask me. Too sleepy to tell you the entire story.
