LOVECRAFT COUNTRY TOME TEMPLATE
Note: The word ‘tome’ is distinguished from the word ‘book’ in the following manner. The LC staff uses the word ‘tome’ to mean a book object that is able to teach the reader. The word ‘book’ may refer to a mundane object in game that one can read, but that doesn’t teach. So a ‘tome’ is also a ‘book’ but a ‘book’ isn’t necessarily a ‘tome’.
Copy the template below to a notepad or word document and fill in the blanks to write a new tome.
SECTION ONE:
What is the title of this tome?
Should this tome have a dream associated with it? If so, write it here. Five to 10 sentences if a good length for a dream.

NOTE: don’t worry if you pick a language not implemented in game, it’ll be changed to something as similar as possible.
What skill should this tome teach?

NOTE: keep in mind that the higher the skill level the rarer this tome will be in game. Don’t worry if you pick a skill not existing in game, it’ll be changed to the most appropriate skill as needed.
What subject should this tome be under?
NOTE: this is based on the dewey decimal system

Miss Muffet
*]
Examine: [* Little Miss Muffet, sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey; Along came a spider, who sat down beside her, and frightened Miss Muffet away. So this story begins with the nursery rhyme and unfolds into a tale of a father and daughter alone in the world. The father, lost without his wife who died in childbirth, buries himself in his quest for knowledge of spiders - the most fascinating of God's creatures. Uncaring of his daughter, Patience, he drags her around the world in search of knowledge of spiders. Eventually, as Patience grows older, he uses her to further his studies: how webs heal cuts, how spider dung improves the eyesight, how the ingestion of spiders improves the disposition. Miss Muffet prays each night to her mother for a young prince to save her from all this. One day she meets her young prince, only her father finds out and has her committed to an asylum for her extreme arachnophobia in order to keep the two separated forever.
