You should now be able to knock on other people's personal room doors.
EXAMPLE:
knock on north door for pyra wildflower
> You knock at Pyra Wildflower's door.
It is best to use both the first and last name (not middle) when knocking. First names may go through if it is a unique first name.
You know you have successfully knocked on the door when you see something like "You knock at Such-and-Such-Peron's door." If you see "You knock on a northern apartment door" or "No such person lives there" the knock has failed and no one will hear it.
When knocking on a door, the knock will be heard on the other aside. A faint knocking will also be heard from adjacent rooms.
