According to the original plan, the Cultural Fair was to take place on June 21st. That is THIS Saturday. Four days from now.
But it has come to my attention that.. alot of people didn't realize it was coming up. :) My fault - I should have posted a reminder sooner.
Also, a couple of the people who had activities planned don't seem to be around.. though I can get other people to run their booths.
Anyway, this is a question for you all. Do you want the fair to go ahead as planned and take place this Saturday, or should we push it back a week and do it next Saturday (the 28th?) .. that is cutting pretty close to people's 4th of July preparations.
Let me know what is good for everyone.. if I don't get any significant response, I will go ahead and ready it for this Saturday. I'll send out your requested garments/food/small items on Thursday and Friday. Larger items will be set up in the gym.
It'll be an all day event, basically, so stop by periodically and see who is sharing what :)

I'll be gone for a week as of the 23rd to visit my family in Tennessee, so this Saturday is best for me.

Saturday it is!
Props will be going out today or tommorow to people who have been active this week ..
If you don't get your stuff on Friday, you'll get it when you show up on Saturday. If you don't show up on Saturday, it'll have to wait until next year.
I love you all but I can't just give you free stuff if you aren't going to participate :)

Hecate, thanks so much for setting this event up for us all!
Players involved, thanks so much for contributing your ideas and time and we hope you all have a rip roaring good time this Saturday.
The cultural fair will become a repeating event. The first time an event is created is usually an effort just to build the basics and get it run once. Then future cultural fairs can have different themes, plots, and quirks added on top of the basic fair.
So as you're attending this Saturday, or even if you are unable to attend, as you get ideas on 'gee this would have been great to see', please make a note of it so we can add that in the future. Perhaps your character will even be inspired to IC'ly sponsor a future fair based on your idea.
Happy Roleplaying!

From what I saw this morning, the culture fair looks real spiffy, and I hope to be back in the afternoon. [note to self: Come up with some culture for next year!]
For all the people performing, maybe someone could post logs?
(and a suggestion for next time, maybe the trays and papers and any items associated with each booth could get that booth's adjective?)

D'oh!
Actually, I thought of that.. but I was already really sick of editting the papers (and there were only four!). I'm insane.. I'd gone over them about 10 times each, and they weren't even all that great or informative. Oh well :p
I enjoyed the realistic clutter, but you're right. Next year: papers with adjectives.
I will see if I can fish up what logs I have of the perfomances.. we didn't actually do as many as we had planned. Kenza didn't get to her dance, Kezia didn't get to her violin solo, and Clover didn't get to her sacrifice lecture/demonstration.
I was looking forward to that stuff :(
What we did have was some morbid/depressing storytime, and some incomprehensible songs/poetry! =P They were all great.
I really enjoyed the parts I saw from the staff side.. it was fun watching everyone play go berserk with my wooden cubes ^_^
Thanks for you help everyone who had a booth, and I hope you all enjoy your gifts!
PS: I am leaving the stuff up for tommorow in case any stragglers want to have a taste of the leftovers. Two-day party! (But your hosts and staff sponsers will probably not be there).
