The abandoned forum left me a bit confused, but I found this place a while back; was just a little overwhelded with schooling and all, the last time I found it and forgot. An off topic section is better than any to say HI.

I've been reading up on the game and such. I get the RP part but the combat still eludes me mainly cause I haven't had enough time to play. I currently work at an amussment park off the Gulf called 'Keman BoardWalk'. The Sun is always overhead and the humidity is a killer. And I do mean killer.

As I understand the game so far, it's an rp where weird attacks just sort of happen at random times. Stat/surrivablity is based on classes taken at the university, that you have to study to merely increase the chance to pass. Studying frequently with students is the key here?

Actually, at this point in time, combat as a system is really not an important factor in the game.
Our combat system is still 'in testing', and is currently (mostly) only being used as a means for characters to spar/brawl each other in game.

The main focus is pure RP - the social aspect. Living your life as a student in a town where some very odd things may come to your attention.

The skills that you learn in your classes could help you uncover/understand certain clues, but you're definitely not reliant upon them to survive!
We do hope to have monster encounters utilizing the combat system at some point in the near future, but even then you won't be having those kinds of random encounters without being aware that you are in a dangerous area (outside of the main town, probably with an OOC alert when you cross that boundary).

Plots as a whole are different than simple combat-oriented monster encounters, and can be navigated in any number of ways. You may see strange things happen in town, but how you choose to react to them is entirely up to you, and they will only lead to character death if you take explicit steps to get yourself into that kind of situation.
But again, getting yourself in or out of a life-or-death plot situation is not reliant upon any particular skills. It's all about your character and what actions they take :)

I hope that helps..
