Hi, I've played this game with several characters (Mary Moon, Cassandra Lascaux) and I wanted to share my experiences with schizoid personality disorder. Many biographers have posthumously diagnosed HPL with schizoid tendencies; whether they're right or wrong, his work certainly reflects what I would consider a schizoid mindset. I speak from personal experience since I've been diagnosed with this "disorder" although I don't consider it to be a disability. It does make social role-playing awkward sometimes, when I attempt roles which are more affectionate or personable than I am comfortable with!

I love this game and I want to keep playing. I just wanted to post a link in case anyone in the community wanted to learn about schizoid personality disorder, since it's involved in HPL's work. Feelings of alienation, superiority, grandiose daydreams and intricate, absorbing fantasies are all "symptoms" of this disorder.

Thank you for the link to the article, I will check it out - I have a friend who also suffers from this disorder -he described several episodes that he had and it can be a very debillitating disorder at times. I suffer from major depression, and I can certainly sympatize with the effects these types of illnesses have on a person.
