Scroll trouble

Last night, a recently awakened came to me stating that he couldn't write on a scroll given to him by a courier. When I tried writing on it I got the messasge; "You cannot write on scroll"
As anybody else encountered this problem?

It must have been one of the broken scrolls from the courtyard. Whenever that occurs, just give the scroll to a servant as trash and get another scroll directly from a courier. It is a known bug.
