Looking at the list of movies based on H.P.'s work, it all starts to look kind of samey, doesn't it? Lots of "Shadow Over Innsmouth" adaptations, the occassional stab at "Colour Out of Space" or "Dunwich Horror," and, of course, the "Reanimater" films, but surprisingly little else beyond that.
So, the question: is there any Lovecraft story that hasn't been filmed that you'd like to see made, and any specific director or actor you'd like to see involved?
As for me: I'd really love to see someone take a stab at "The Shadow Out of Time." That seems like such a good, cinematic story, between the central mystery, the weird dream sequences, and the steadily rising tension. Not sure who I would want to direct it, though. Maybe Christopher Nolan or Darren Aronofsky?
