To the Guests of Castle Marrach,

It is my sad duty to tell you that Sera Duvessa has died. She died during her Binding ritual last night. I cannot tell you why she died. The exact reasons are unknown to me. The Binding ritual is different for each person. However, I will tell you that Lady Serista, after explaining the dangers of the ritual once more, gave Sera Duvessa a final chance to forego the Binding ritual. This is something the Lady does with every mage potential.

Sera Duvessa bravely stood her ground and followed her desire to become an apprentice mage. This is something we should all remember. Sera Duvessa was a wonderful and vibrant woman who often caused those around her to blush with her bold and mischievous nature. She always brightened up any room she was in and brought a smile to a person's face. Even I was not immune to her playful charm.

I feel this loss most vividly as not only have I lost a potential sister mage, I have lost a friend.

If you have any memories of Sera Duvessa, please share them with us all. Let this be a living memorial to our dear friend so that we may always remember her with a smile.

When I first met Duvessa, she was indeed a vibrant lady. At the first opportunity, she made me blush.

She was contraversial at times, but that's part of why I liked her so much. She was refreshing in a place that had become stagnant with gloom.

She was a good friend. She will always live in my heart and memory. From now on, when I think of her, she will still make me smile.

I remember Duvessa much as Sera Erin did, lively, outgoing, very expressive of herself. Enough that she oftentimes made some men uncomfortable with her forwardness. But that was her charm, she never failed to bring a smile to my face. This has been a great loss to the entire castle, and I will forever miss her.

Signed sadly,
Watchman Zero

When I first met Duvessa, I didn't know what to think. She was quite bold and flirtave, and I thought I could NEVER get close to her...

Then I started to talk to her, and I realized she was a lot like me. We were both brash, good natured but uncivilized barbarians trapped in an ultra-proper castle where people bow so much you would think they had back problems. We became friends...then lovers....

I will miss her to no end, but I know she will always be with me in spirit.....

I feared it was only a bad dream; that Sera Duvessa would still be with us upon the arrival of the next morning. Alas it is not so, we have lost one whos spirit and charm filled these anchient walls with warmth. We will remember her always. My heartfelt sympathy to those of you who were especially close to Duvessa.
Sincerely,
Sera Cassandra

Yes, it seems Sera Duvessa has left us, not to return. And while her departure may result in less competition for those few lucky enough to call themselves apprentice magi, her absence is still felt. Even I had some most disturbing dreams about Duvessa last night. While I did know her well, I offer my condolences to those who were closest to her. May she not be forgotten.

Santlar, How did you survive the Binding?

By Gods, the Good Duvessa has died? Oh the agony, the loss of a close friend dear to all of our hearts. She took the risk, like the rest of us, and failed, which provides great sorrow. The sad thing I must say is this, we joked about being killed during the binding, but we never believed it would actually happen. I hope Duvessa rests well in death, and that she will live happily in our hearts, and our minds.

In utter grieveance,
Retribution

I was strong. Stronger than some it seems.

In what way, do you believe? Physical, mental, spiritual? And if you can, please describe the Binding Ritural to me.

This is NOT an appropriate forum for your curiosity Ser. This is a memorial for a lost sister in the Arts. If you insist on persuing this line of questioning, please do it in another, more appropriate, place.

Duvessa...

I felt a kinship with you, and yet I can not relate in words here what there was between us. I believe those who sat next to the fireplace when we spoke of customs might understand where this kinship began.

I will miss her deeply. It pains my Heart to know her laughter was silenced.

A bright light has gone out from among us. Though I did not know her well, I feel her loss and give my condolences to those closest to her. She was willing to sacrifice everything for her chance, and stands as an example of courage to us all. I only regret not knowing her better.

I hope that I face my own Binding as bravely as she.

Respectfully,
Benedict
