I though it good to add something to the comments about light-dark descriptions. Something else to consider is anything skill based.

Can some people see magic or auras? If so you want to consider what they normally have the ability to see.

Is there a sailing skill? If so, they might notice things right off the bat about the ship.

This not going into the possible night sky and what information people can get from that.

In short, doesn't sound like a one day task to fully write a room up I guess.

Nope, I think a room takes longer than a day unless its really the ~only~ thing you are going to be doing, and can sit and plug at the computer for 6+ hours. Not many of us are going to be fortunate to have 40 hours a week to work on object-building, which is why working in teams is proving really the only way to go.

I'd be really interested in hearing more about the specific techniques for writing skill-based Views and day/night views in the Storybuilder forum.
