Forums Reversion

The cloud server that hosts the main Skotos web site and the forums experienced a hardware failure on Saturday morning that unfortunately led to severe database corruption. Several attempts to restore it failed.

This led us to our backups, but the timing was a bit unfortunate. Since the failure occurred on a weekend morning, we didn't see it until after a new backup occurred, which contained the corrupted data, and which removed our previous daily backup. This forced us to our weekly backup, which was unfortunately at the end of its time: six days old.

So, the forums are back, but we had a six-day reversion.

This should not have affects on the rest of the site, since the majority of our data is saved in our main-user-database or our games, all on remote machines.

  • Chancery Open Bells

Let it be known that as of the 15th of this moon, on every Tuis day evening from 9 to 10 late bells, the Office of Chancery (Prosecution/Scribes) will hold open bells to perform its services for the Castle populace. These will take place in the Chancery Anteroom, located south of the dining hall in the Outer Bailey (through the slimmer door).

These services will include the filing of wills, information regarding the legal system, information regarding the Prosecution branch of Chancery and information about the process of a civil wedding.

At this time, we regret to note that while information regarding the positions available via Prosecution Branch of Chancery may be given at open bells, we will only be accepting applications presently for the position of Junior Chirographer. Furthermore, please note that these open bells only deal in information from the base level of Chancery; inquiries for other branches, such as Inquisition or High Chancery, will not be fielded.

This will be taking place in a bell. Any person with business for the Chancery is welcome to stop into the anteroom, I shall be there from nine late, to ten late, or until interest wanes if longer.

      In Service,

      Meryl

Any with inquiries regarding or business with the Office of the Judiciary are invited to attend the open bells to be held this eve in the Chancery anteroom, from the ninth until the tenth late bells.

Those who are unable to attend these hours are welcome to send a missive directly to myself with their business.

Chancery bells start at the top of the hour for any and all with business. This shall be taking place in the Chancery Office, through the courtroom and to the Southeast.

Due to the current situation with the wisps and their continuous re-appearances there will be no Chancery bells tonight in the Outer Bailey. We will plan to resume next Tuis at 9 late.

We wish to give her time to gather her bearings and will look forward to that activity next week.
