Eighteenth Day of the Second Moon,
Seventeenth Year of Recent Awakenings

In accordance to the will of Her Majesty, and in upholding the duties charged to me as Aspirant Chronicler, I hereby submit an account of
The Royal Garden Tour.

Denizens from both baileys emerged in the Royal Garden to support the newest Handmaiden Mistress Ophidias and her husband-to-be, The Royal Archivist, Master Tiernon on their event that took place on the Twelfth Day of the Second Moon. Together they composed an event that included history on the Inner Bailey’s Royal Garden and fun on the frozen ice pond.

In attendance were, Ladies Amoret and Sinvy, Dame Galatea, Mistresses Brighde and Lilly, Master Dolph, sers Liir, Kobe, Siward, and Massimo, the hosts and this Chronicler. The tour of the Royal Garden commenced with the Pavilion. Mistress Ophidias turned it over to Master Tiernon to share the history of how the Royal Garden came to be.

Master Tiernon:
"Some of you here recall the garden prior to its transformation? It changed in the 7th Year of the Recent Awakenings, during the Riven Hills War that brought the Fae knight, Sir Lorand, to our keep."

"The War itself is a matter for another time. However, when Sir Lorand arrived, he carried with him a special gift for Her Majesty from her father, the King of Avalon. "A magical glass sphere that showed a wondrous winter landscape within."

"Shortly after the conclusion of the War, Her Majesty carried this sphere to Her Royal Court, where something remarkable happened. The image of her father appeared from within it, and bid her carry the sphere out of the Throne Room, and into the Courtyard. Upon carrying the sphere into the courtyard, the King told Her Majesty that he wished to give her something that would keep the memory of her home, far away Avalon, close to her heart. Light and mist from within the orb and over the wall! And when it parted."

"The Court discovered this fair garden had replaced the small and dismal one of before. It was a near perfect replica of Her Majesty's homeland with many pleasures and treats for the Court to discover and enjoy within."

After the many thanks for his aid in availing those present to understand the history of the Royal Garden, Mistress Ophidias took the time to go into further detail on the Pavilion itself.

Mistress Ophidias:
"Now, for the Pavilion there are two things that some of you may not be aware of. The first is a book. It is not just an ordinary book, but one that aids to the insight of dreams if interacted with. There is also a bowl here for a hot drink that I deem is called Wine Caudle available for any to enjoy."

Once everyone had a chance to test the Wine Caudle and learn about dreams with the Dream Book, Mistress Ophidias continued the tour in the Royal Garden. The next stop was a room that held two eminent items explained the Mistress.

Mistress Ophidias:
"This part of the garden has two notable things of interest. The first is an orb that has the ability to make memories clear and restore some memories that are lost. Additionally, those who have had time to stop, and sit upon the bench you may also have noticed that the light posts are home to living creatures. Sprites, I have been informed."

The next area contained a number of trees, bushes, and benches that are all set to perfection. Within the trees, one stands out as it is larger and covered in snow. Mistress Ophidias explained to those present why this tree was different than the others.

Mistress Ophidias:
"For those who are unaware the tree here seems to be a residence for some friendly creatures. They are more than willing to share a treat if you are kind. However, those who are ill tempered may walk away empty handed if you are rude and kick the tree they reside in."

With that she went to the snow covered tree and poked it while sweetly asking for a treat. The tree rustled, scattering delicate, glittering flakes of snow all around. Gradually the air was filled with ethereal flakes of snow, and then something airily floated from the tree and landed in her hand. At that point the tree ceased the rustling, leaving a lingering echo of soft giggles.

She revealed a delicate pastry that was gifted from the creatures in the tree. After, she invited those present to endeavor to get a treat, this Chronicler was the first to try. Just as this Chronicler was about to poke the tree, Master Tiernon suggested she shake it and so she did. Upon shaking the tree she was met with snow and mischievous giggles emanating from the tree. Everyone had a good laugh as it was made clear that many trick others into shaking the tree for fun.

There were two other stops on the tour, including one to the Grotto afore the final location. It contained a few edible delights such as, mulled apple cider and roasted chestnuts. However, the main event was the wondrous frozen ice pond. Many dug into the box of skates provided by Mistress Ophidias and despite the falling of some everyone had a smile on their face. The rest of the evening went smoothly as those present relished in the company and food.

This chronicle will be subject to changes and corrections, as I humbly ask that the readers indicate to me through their discretion any falsehoods I may have mistakenly communicated. It is by means of the conservation of the Past that we continue to serve Her Majesty and give substance to those that follow.

In service to Her Majesty Queen Vivienne, the Office of the Chronicler, and the Denizenry of our Gracious Queen's Realm,

Yazmin Reymess
Aspirant Chronicler
