  • Preparations for the Fire Elementals' Arrival

Fifth day of the Twelfth Moon,
    Eighteenth Year of Recent Awakenings

In accordance with the will of Her Majesty and in upholding the duties charged to me as Chronicler of the Court, I hereby submit the account of the Preparations for the Fire Elementals' Arrival. This Chronicle is part of the Triangle and the Black Dame series.

Word that the Triangle had yet added another ingredient to its pot of Marrachian troubles arrived courtesy of Undine, the water elemental, who appeared in Marrach to warn its residents of an incoming surge of fire elementals.

According to Undine, who appeared late in the Eleventh Moon before members of the Royal Army, the Triangle had made bargains with a tribe of Fire Elementals, which has sent the fiery creatures to plague Marrach in search of an unknown item. Already, those flame-kissed creatures roam the sides of Mount Ardan, Undine warned.

Having delivered its warning, Undine departed Marrach, leaving its denizens to prepare for the latest onslaught.

The Royal Army quickly mobilized, working together with the Carpenters to place barrels of water throughout the keep, so they would be available in case of a fire elemental invasion. The water has been treated with salt to help prevent freezing, but are kept out of open areas as well. (A list of locations shall be included at the end of this chronicle).

According to Sir Darvius, a Lieutenant of the Royal Army, the barrels of water are but one way to halt damage from the elementals, but one that everyone can use and help with.

"If the fire elementals attack in earnest it stands to reason they will set fires," Sir Darvius said. "The water barrels will allow us to put out such fires before they can cause great harm to our home."

The Knight said the Army's irregulars, the Rangers, are also preparing to venture out in search of the elementals, which are hopefully being kept at bay by the wintry storm that has encased the top of Mount Ardan for days. In the meantime, servants will be checking the barrels to ensure they remain topped off with water, and that a supply of buckets is available at each water barrel. ((OOC: dip barrel to get a bucket of water, pour bucket <on thing> to pour water on it))
