  • The Golem's Defense and Relocation

Third day of the Third Moon,
    Ninteenth Year of Recent Awakenings

In accordance with the will of Her Majesty and in upholding the duties charged to me as Chronicler of the Court, I hereby submit the account of the Golem's defense and relocation. This Chronicle is part of the Triangle and the Black Dame series.

A plan to relocate a deactivated Triangle Golem to Master Orson's temporary workshop in the Inner Bailey nearly ended in disaster, as the Triangle's concerted efforts left a trail of wounded in its wake and nearly cost the realm both the golem and the Master Alchemist.

Master Orson has been working in the Inner Bailey's vault since the Triangle's first attack upon him. It was decided that the golem known as Moe, which was deactivated during an attack, would be moved to the Master Alchemist to allow him to putter with it and attempt to use it to divine the Triangle's plans.

Unlike the great stone golems sent to fight by the Triangle, the golem known as Moe has its own sentience, according to Master Orson. That made him vital to divining the future plans of the Triangle.

The Royal Army, the Rangers, and interested helpers gathered together at the bridge centre, dividing into four groups. One group went to the Inner with Master Orson, to await the golem. Another went to the Outer Bailey, to be ready for the inevitable Triangle incursion. A third group, led by Dame Eeva, went to retrieve Moe. The final group, made of healers, waited on the bridge, listening for calls for medical assistance.

The retrieval group went to the Outer Bailey to where Moe was stored, near the Bowling Alley. The group worked quickly to strap the deactivated golem to a stretcher, while the Triangle's creatures -- clockwork soldiers, mostly -- harried them.

Several of the group took minor injury when the heavy golem, made of barrels, planks and iron bars, slid around on its stretcher.

Battling their way to the Inner, the retrieval group got Moe to the Inner Bailey vault, where they were set upon by the Ebon Dame, now known to be Dame Keterin. She said it was her destiny to enter the vault and destroy the golem, and she was unstoppable.

    Clockwork Mayhem
While the golem group worked to relocate the creation to the Inner, the defense group battled clockworks in the Outer Bailey, before rushing to the Inner Bailey when there were calls for help. There, more clockwork soldiers were destroyed, though not before one of them cut down Lady Charmiam, who had been cornered. The Lady received quick medical care from the medical group, saving her life.

The Triangle Shadow Assassin known as Miyako snuck through the battle in the Inner Bailey Courtyard, attacking Dame Or and Master Orson in the Great Hall. Using her Shadow Magics, she locked the door, preventing rescuers from intervening. While some battered at the door, trying both regular steel weapons and silver ones on the shadow-sealed lock, Lord Vestio and ser Raoul smashed in the window, giving the group access to the Great Hall.

When they entered, the party found the hall empty, but sounds of clashing blades drew them to the banquet hall, where Dame Or battled Miyako. The Dame had taken several superficial wounds, and Miyako seemed to be bleeding shadows around her. When the others arrived and blocked the exit and bolstered Dame Or's defense of Master Orson, the woman muttered something in a shadowy tongue and vanished.

    The Battle for Moe
The two dames, Dame Eeva of the Rangers and Dame Keterin, the Black Dame, were in a standoff. To limit the bloodshed and put a quick end to the conflict, Dame Eeva extended an honourable challenge to the resurrected revenant.

According to Serjeant Marcellius and Master Aratan, Dame Eeva said that Dame "Keterin was a knight, and it would not be right to swarm her like a worthless creature." Dame Eeva said if Dame Keterin won, she would get Moe. If the Dame won, Dame Keterin would retire the field, for now.

Dame Keterin accepted, and the two faced off, with Dame Keterin landing a vicious first blow with her runed crystal sword. However, Dame Eeva continued on, harrying the black-armored knight until she retreated, deserting the treasury office and the golem.

    The Heroes recover
After the defeat of Dame Keterin and Miyako, Master Orson was safely escorted to the vault to join the golem, Moe, and begin work on attempting to power up the creation. The wounded were taken to the Hospital to recover from their wounds.

While no one died, several individuals came close, including the valiant Dame Eeva and an unfortunate Lady Charmiam. Yeoman Elesin and sera Kaori were also injured.

It is by means of the conservation of the Past that we continue to serve Her Majesty and give substance to those that follow.
