  • @chat rules and behaviour

@chat is a great thing for you to have to find RP and coordinate ooc schedules and such.

There are certain rules which must be followed while using the @chat.
As we have several under-age players, the rules of the chat reflects that consideration.

This list is nowhere complete, but meant as a guideline. If you're in doubt, @assist and ask.

    - The @chat is solely for OOC purposes - this means, absolutely NO IC information may be shared on the chat. You can't use it to talk about IC things that goes on or has happened in the past.

    - Language must be polite and respectful - this means, no swearing or cursing, no foul or rude language, no sensitive topics (rape, violence, torture, condensation of others, religious or sexual explicit language).

    - No personal attacks or threats - this means, don't attack other players over chat, don't use the chat to tell players you will get back at them, no using chat to threaten other players and so on.

    - Do not use @chat to complain about players, staff or issues with the game. Use @assist for that. And don't share info on the @chat about what assists you have filed (there are many reasons for this, but mainly to avoid more negative ooc feelings between players).

    - Stop when asked to on @chat - this means, if someone doesn't feel comfortable about the topic you're discussing or the language you're using on @chat, please stop and take it private so others do not have to listen to it.

Consequences of breaking these rules can include temporarily or permanent ban for using @chat and also @ooc and @msg.

If you feel you need to discuss stuff with other players ooc'ly and it falls under the things you can't do on @chat, use IM or @MSG so other players do not have to listen to it.

    On a final note.

All these rules apply to using the @ooc command in public.

We wish to keep a positive and constructive playing environment, where all players are comfortable with what goes on ooc'ly. These rules are implemented to ensure that no one feels uncomfortable or hurt by what is talked about on @chat and on @ooc.

Thank you. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a page or file an assist.

    Bump.

Also, please bear in mind that there are plenty of people listening to the @chat line even though they are not actively participating in the conversation. While the line is intended for OOC communication, this does not mean that it should be used for idle chit chat. This can become spammy for all of those listening. If you would like to carry on an extended one-on-one conversation, please find another avenue in which to do so.

    Thank you!

Please keep this in mind when using @chat- this also includes asking where someone is in game via the @chat system. Make sure to use IC avenues for IC things! Thanks and happy gaming!
