    This thread will attempt to keep players informed of valuable updates to IronClaw Online.

    We also have a seperate thread that lists Social Additions.

    Hide/Search:
    Search has been reinstated along with its companion command Hide.

    We have currently removed the random items found through searching and implemented a new system in which characters may secretly hide items in the hopes to keep them secret and private while other characters are offered the opportunity to search them out if they suspect a hidden item in the area.

    A character trying to retrieve an item they have hidden has a 100% chance of success, if the item has not already been discovered by another. A character searching for items they did not personally hide will have a much more difficult time of it.

    There will also be included several hidden items spread around Docktown by the staff. If you find one of these consider yourself lucky.

    This is a preliminary system. Expect changes in the near future as it becomes tested, questioned and generally abused.

    Format:
    * Hide: Hide my item in here. Hide my item in couch. Hide my item in bay.
    * Search: Search here. Search couch. Search bay.

    Basic Help Files

    Lo and Behold! The basic Help Files have been updated to incorporate the World of IronClaw Online!

    This minor yet difficult procedure now leaves us open to add more specific topics such as: Skills, Careers, Banking, Etc.

    There are two methods of accessing the Help Files.

    1.) @help [TOPIC] - the help files will appear in the client along with links to associated topics.

    2.) ? [TOPIC] - the help files will appear in a popup window so as to decrease the loss of information in the client due to scrolling. (And its fun ) -- Note: A space follows the ? in this syntax.

        Hopefully...

        Rented Rooms

        The rented rooms of the Boarding House have undergone extensive repairs. Doors which were jammed should now be taken care of.

        Certain furnishings that should have existed and didn't, now do. This is not retroactive. Chances are you need to re-rent the rooms in order to fully appreciate any minor changes.

          Predict the future!

          @future

          Syntax:
          @future '[month] [date] [year]

          Examples:
          @future '12 01
          @future '12 01 06
          @future '12 01 2006

          Explanation:
          Players have expressed an interest in predicting the In-Character day, date, time and month for future events. This will do that. If you wish to hold an auction, play, rehearsal, sale, chat, plot or devious plan simply enter the Real Time Date and it will provide the IronClaw Online date.

            This will tell you the IronClaw Online date for *midnight* on that date. So if you want an auction in the evening on that date, bear in mind that days pass quicker in ironclaw than in real life.

            If future says that it's midnight on that date, then the first 16 hours of the day will be that day, and the remaining 8 hours will be the next day.

            If it says that it's midday, then the first 8 hours of the day will be that day, and the remaining 16 hours will be the next day.

            Have I confused everyone yet?

              Moles and Combat

              Combat has been released in a very preliminary format. Most of what you are now capable of is mainly to test the system so we may continue to successfully update it. Please, use it sparingly. Encourage it in Roleplaying.

              Sidenote: Healing is automatic at the moment. We need to accomplish one task in this area before adding another.

              Commands:
              Fight [target] - Begins the fight.
              Attack [target] - Attacks preset target(s).
              Attack [target]'s [detail] - An aimed attack.
              Breakcombat - End the fight, flee.

              Syntax:
              Fight Azrael
              Attack Azrael
              Attack Azreal's left nostril
              Breakcombat

              Note: Some "bugs" are already known. Many attacks appear as unarmed combat. This is most fleshed out portion of the system and therefore the default.

                Pricing and NPCs

                Price Lists

                I have updated all the NPC traders (I could find at the time) to include a price list.

                Command:
                ask npc for stock
                ask npc for menu
                ask npc for list
                ask npc for pricelist
                ask npc for prices

                Usage Example:
                ask npc for stock
                Julian offers his price list to you.
                To take this item, type: accept from Julian
                To refuse to take it, type: refuse Julian
                You take a price list from Julian.
                read my pricelist
                item | price
                -------------------------------+------------
                a bar of lemon soap | 3 denarii
                And so on...

                  Money Pouches

                  Deposit/Withdraw and Capacity

                  1.) The visual output for withdrawing money or depositing coins into money pouches has been altered. No longer will witnesses see the amounts involved but only the action.

                  2.) Money pouches have no capacity to hold items. They are not meant for that purpose and will no longer allow it to occur. Any items, previously located within a money pouch, can be removed with ease. The intention of money pouches will remain intact as a small pouch to hold "money" only.

                  Note: These changes are to help control the fiscal systems of IronClaw Online to better serve the playerbase as a whole. Although you need not always use a money pouch (or its equivalent) to get by in life, this shall also change very soon.

                    Minor Updates

                    Antlers/Hooves/Claws
                    All races which should include these features, now have them.

                    If you feel your race should and it does not, send an @idea.


                    Facial Hair
                    Facial hair should now be a feature which players can interact with. This change is not fully retroactive. Any characters created before the edit will have to use the word "facialhair" in order to interact with it. All those created after the editting process will be able to use the the words used in the description of it; i.e. beard, mustache, goatee, whiskers.

                    If you find a problem with your facial hair, use @bug to report it.

                        Chargen

                        The chargen now gives you the option to change your name while selecting the animal you want.

                        It also gives you the chance to go back to the listing of animals while you're choosing the breed.
                        For example, you can choose a cat, have a look at the options, then decide you don't want to be a cat, go back to the listing and choose to be a fox.

                        Because fox doesn't have a list of choices, it just takes you straight into the chargen, so you don't get a chance to go back.

                        Also, if you type in the name of a character you already own, instead of saying that the name is taken, it puts you back into chargen. Should make it more obvious what's happening when making characters.

                          Religion

                          The New Religion System

                          Religion is not only a public acceptance of your position in a particular faith but a personal, internal choice on how you choose to live your life. This new system is based on that personal choice. It is a chance to choose a religious faith privately. It does not guarantee acceptance by others in the same order. It does not grant any overt power or special effects. There are hidden benefits for all religious choices (currently only two choices). Through experience, you may discover what they are. This is not related directly to the clergy careers and can be used by any character at this time.

                          Syntax:
                          @religion
                          @religion NAME
                          @religion none

                          Example:
                          @religion Lutara
                          @religion Sallumer
                          @religion Nothing

                            Your characters strength now effects the damage done in combat.

                            Which means, if you're strong enough, even a glancing blow can do a lot of damage.

                              The "Other" Calendar

                              The Doloreaux are mostly based on the religion of Lutara and due to this fact they have their own "Lunar" calender for the seasons, months, days, etc.

                              This is now available for players to use as they see it. A true Lutarist/Doloreaux will schedule according to their own dates.

                              To facilitate this, we have a new command.

                              @doltime

                              Its simple and to the point. It reflects the same information as @ictime but based on the lunar calender. At this time, we have not setup an @future that informs you of the Lunar date but its planned.
