Not too surprising that IE's settings are interfering; trying to secure Internet Explorer makes it rather easy to disable any kind of ActiveX.

One thing you can try is adding skotos.net, *.skotos.net and grendelsrevenge.skotos.net to your "trusted sites" (you'll have to turn off the requirement for https verification". See if that works; if not, change the the Trusted Sites Zone security level to Medium (assuming it's not already lower).

While you're at it, you might want to remove any unrecognized sites from Trusted Sites.

If adding the Skotos sites to your trusted list isn't an option, you can try setting your Internet Zone to medium. Or, if you want to keep it at a custom level, you can set everything under the ActiveX section to Prompt that's currently Disabled, if it has a Prompt setting. If doesn't have a Prompt level, I'd recommend not setting it to Enabled, unless you're doing this for Trusted sites.

You'll find all this in the Security tab of your Internet Options window in IE.

Thank you, Wyrhtan. I have done all that. Nothing seems to work. Is it time to take out the hammer?

I've added some code to (hopefully) detect IE 11's new agent string. Let me know if it works now. You might need to RELOAD the Play Now page to be sure you have the new code.

(Alternatively, let me know if I messed anything up, though it looks to work right from IE8 on Windows and Firefox on Mac.)

I noticed today that if your permissions timeout and you need to relog in your skotos account to play the game again it won't automatically go to the login page like it does with the TEC links.
