  • Uthgol Times: Monsterly News

I've been thinking of starting something I hope will stir up some interest in GR. I would like to start a Uthgol-wide periodical publication, such as a newspaper, on the GR forums.

In it would be sections for Letters to the Editor, Interesting news, Individual Lair Columns, announcements, Rumors section, challenge section... Monster stuff... (more ideas?)

I hope it would catch on, hopefully become a STICKY or a new section on the GR forums. Players could 'submit' news etc by posting in the appropriate section or thread.

Do you have any suggestions regarding this? Input is awesome. Perhaps a name for the publication? I was thinking Uthgol Times (or something similar). Suggestions for sections?

Thanks! I look eagerly forward to input!

I think that's a great idea. I really like the name as well.
Japes point towards Studgrob. A single point of light flashes from the middle of Studgrob's body, then starts growing larger until a great dome of bluish-white energy consumes him and his surroundings! 999999 points of damage! Studgrob roars a final time before dying

Japes says, "Ninja minotaurs in love."
      Japes flails.

      Synchar: Toastah!
      Toasty: o.o
      Toasty: OMG, IT'S A SYNCHAR.
<Toasty thwacks you with a rolled up newspaper.>

sgp NO LAG! *can't breath* *starts to turn blue*
StoryGuide Damocles responds, "Just calm down. Maybe it's the start of great things."

Would like something like this, too!
        -Usuichii, Great Scientist.

Smarmy the Titan bellows to you, "You look almost like an Ugly."

Blackhand the Orc grumbles: I don't know what to call you. No ugly is that vile, and no proper creature of Uthgol has ever had such a lack of honor!

        Usuichii 1, Usuichii 2

Bumping this in the hopes that I might get some suggestions. Player base is low now, so what to report??

Also, I was browsing thru old threads and came across the following I posted in an attempt to lighten the mood of a contentious discussion:

          1. T7's are NOT all-powerful and unbeatable.

          2. My T7 only steps all over others because she's so big and they get in the way. Is it MY fault she can't see that itty-bitty scarab, or even feel it's shell crack and it's guts squish to juice under her feet? No.

          3. My T7 is actually nice to the lower, puny, and weakling monsters she TOWERS over with obvious all-encompassing authority, infamy, and control over their very lives.

          4. My T7, being humanoid, requires alot of protein to keep her muscles in peak shape. She eats ALOT, thus all the belching. She tends to really like chicken, which most chimera of any class taste like, although she also loves a good Mino-steak, raw, every now and then. Pie is good too.

          5. T7's are great to have on your side, since they can threaten anyone who bothers you. Not to mention squash, slice and dice, or eat them.

          6. Without the terror of the T7's, Uthgol would be overrun with thugs trying to beat down everybody else. With the small amount of T7's allowed in Uthgol, thuggery has been kept at a managable rate.

.... just a few of my thoughts.

Does that mud still exist where you play as monsters? Or at least I thought that's what it was. You build these monster lairs and then work together to survive basically. TEC seems alright, but is that their only mud nowadays? I find it hard to justify paying for a mud, even if the quality is higher standard than free muds. I wish Simutronics had a subscription based service giving you access to all games. Why? Modus Operandi interests me, but it seems like the community isn't very active there, nor is Simutronics actually doing anything to increase the players on that game, just pleasing the people who are there. They may as well remove Alliance of Heroes and MO from their lineup if they really don't want to maintain them anymore. Seems like they're putting more effort into their other projects like that Dragon MMO and their Mobile Tower Defense game. The only Pay to Play muds I know of now are TEC, DR and GS. All fantasy. Perhaps if we had, say, a SciFI Pay to Play, I may check it out. What's the differences between TEC and DR, for instance? shareit https://get-vidmateapk.com
