  • You are in a large cave. Ahead of you is a genie lamp. What are your wishes...

As someone kindly pointed out in the Christmas 2018 Wishlist thread, Christmas is over. Some of those requests were implemented, others are being looked at/in the works, and some of them will unfortunately not happen (I'm looking at your raining fish, Kered ).

To just sort of regroup and make it easier for us to find fresh/unimplemented ideas, I'd like to open up this thread for you to comment with your -current- wish list. While we welcome and appreciate combat-related wishes, I would love to see lots of non-combat related wishes, also, as many of those types of things may be "quicker hits" that could be rolled out if deemed feasible/appropriate.

I'm appreciative of how nicely the suggestions in the trait thread were presented, and hope this thread will follow suit. Thanks!

    1) Transparency in communication with staff and administrators.
    2) A list of "These are our goals. These are what we are working on". I have feelings why things like this aren't done. There are surely things you think are pretty easy to get done/pretty definite adds. Then there are things that are maybes, right? Then there "It would be nice/long term" things. And then there are "Not going to happen things." A comprehensive list of that would be great as far as continuous engagement and player retention.
    3) An outlined promo schedule (Feb is usually this, March is usually that, June is usually none) etc.
    4) Hunting ground revamps (New Mobs, different mobs, new stories to offer variety [see Vakrend's post])
    5) More non-com stuff- (-cough bone gladii-) patterns, charms, additional lockpick types, keyrings, ribboned lockpicks etc etc etc.
    6) Open up former buildings (player owned or other wise) for new owners/tenants. If it's a coding issue, condemn them and re-open them (like the domii in Blackvine)
    7) Further options for player owned housing rather than the sandbar

I will add a back and forth dialogue with the players. We're not kids anymore. We would like to be treated as paying customers (who I would imagine most of us are) who play and pay money for a game because of nostalgia among other things. Value our opinion. Show us that you value it.

        1) Expand the damage/types of Bone/stone weaponary. I think that would open up a huge non com sector if suddenly we can craft or inset woodsie made weapons. Almost like minor customization. I don't expect the damage threshold of these weapons to be on par with Retalq/Boison. But maybe on par with bronze/iron.

        2) BOAT TO FRANLIUS from Blackvine. And add in a rotation of 2 boats that are on opposite sides of the route. There is literally ZERO reason why the Legion would only be sending a single boat to a major war front. You pass Blackvine while on the boat, so make it a port. This would open up a lot more populations expanding across more of the already created game.

        3) Add A discount leather buyer in Vetallun. He doesn't pay nearly as much as the city leather buyers, but having an option that allows for more flexibility in this game would be beneficial. Either Vetallun or Blackvine. Just something.

        4) Creations and love given to Outdoors/hunting has been wonderful. Now bring some of that love to Healing and locksmithing. If not adding more creative things to use add to those skillsets, place more reputation based things in Blackvine/Vetallun/RockValley. Something similar to the Wards in Franlius for Healers to gain reputation with the local shops. You successfully heal 1000 Blackvine residents, you should get some kind of discount at the shops in Blackvine. you support the war efforts in the Valley or with the Nehal, you get discounts or the ability to get some 'custom' but not rare items from a fama like person. More drive to do more things.

        5) Put in a fast lane for @chopped. Allow for turn over if people want turn over. I've had 2 @choped characters for nearly a year that I've been trying to get killed. One I had to actually go to the island to successfully achieve this, but the other has been knocked out several times and nearly coma'd but still doesn't get killed off. Sure it'll increase a sudden group of VC7 plus new toons, but it allows for fresh starts for stale story arcs, while also allowing people to explore other aspects of the game. One of the reason that veteran old characters start becoming super jack of all trades is because the idea of restarting EVERYTHING from nothing is daunting. Give them the ability to have that shiney VC 10 and you'll see some spark back in the game world.

        6) With a fast lane of @chopped, make an @retire command. It automatically @chops a character of your choice by allowing them to walk off into the sunset. This will cure the plaguing critique that has been given to the GMs of allowing @chops to die by berries, or something similarly unsettling. Let some characters end their story super simple and not disrespectful to the years put into that character.

I will think of some more later I am sure. KUDOS to you for actually extending an olive branch to the very grumpy player base and letting our voices be heard, in a constructive manner.

          1) It might be mechanically impossible but I also thought once you reached higher ranks in a non com the round time should be lowered for stuff such as stitch or building snares, give even more reason for people to be specialists.
          2) Expanded event types, I always liked the ideas of there being events such as robberies where shadier types instead of trying to help the situation could risk getting caught trying to exploit the situation for their own benefit.
          3) An option to pay money to buy more storage area at the bank, or have a storage facility built in the city.

            1. More animals (snares, we have 3 different kinds lets add a couple more random creatures we can catch and skin)
2.Healing SP gain (please something to bump it up even just a little, bandage clean remove bandage cut my eyes out)
3.Add A discount leather buyer in Vetallun. He doesn't pay nearly as much as the city leather buyers, but having an option that allows for more flexibility in this game would be beneficial. Either Vetallun or Blackvine. (someone mentioned this, we (the Traevant) as an org would love to open a leather shop, have alot of it wrote out already set up semi embroided items on vaired leather items much like the barber shop is set up. Totally would submit if, if its possible.
4.Clean up some dead ended events (Where's my shin kicker, kidnapped to the steps..)
            5. Allow orgs to set up events and maybe throw them custom items to give away as prizes using org credits or something ( Kered would totally do alot of non com fishing events or even low level go trap xyz for meat to donate to his loved Vet)
6.The guild, the legion, and the BC could all use some enemy love, do some rival gangs attack the guild, the cinerans sack Fran legion has to retake it, have someone steal Shiz's prize teddy bear.
7.We had a discussion for monlon ravines earlier, throw some zealot cinerans there, that gives SoE something to fight, some pressure on Monlon, and hopefully modivates the MVG to get there butts in gear.
8.A woodsie type shop in Vet that does rotating items like stormhiem however you spell it, a fishing pole with ivy wrapped around it, a shovel etched with worms.
9.(Non IG Item) Once some of these changes go out, Email non playing people. we have the data base..lets try to lure some folks back using plan old , Hey we miss you, while you were gone, here's a piece of Lore (Ravinites punched Ereal in the face giving him a black eye, and this area opened xzy) it may perk intrests.
            10. Finally how much wood could a woodchuck chuck chuck if a woodcuck would chuck would? (IT WOULD RAIN FISH)
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

1] I would love a skill set for dogs, I mean what is their purpose other than being a food and money sink? The skill set would be for lite combat like guarding non coms and used for tracking bigger critters in the woods and general hunting and out door needs.
2] I would like to see a vendor in Vet or Blackvine that you can bring animal parts and some armor peices to that could then be used to create "uniqueish" gear and items kinda like how the scar generator works.
3] Remember the hired guards what if we gave them an extra command like pulling wagons for us?
4] I would like to see manicas, bracers, and heeled boots add a damage bonus to unarmed skill sets, or at the very least give us something like functional brass knuckles.
5] And for the love of Ereal we need a second floor added to the constables station for all employed there to have a single room cause the time needed to be devoted to patrolling the city and the pay earned is so low it is hard to pay our rent. Rent is too damn high!

Iíd like to see things you can do with money because after a certain point it doesnít mean much.
                1. Holdings should be brought back. You should be able to purchase a holding and then it has a randomness to the payout. At the end of each IG month you would get a notice on how the holding did. For instance, if you had a shipping company you could have: Perfect timing to market +20% of base payout, normal payout, misjudged the market -20% of base payout, then a super slim chance of the boat sinking. This would prevent easy money like the Patricians had.
                2. The ability to buy unused spaces and setup shops. Kered and Santum want leather buyers. Let them buy the location, pay the NPC wages and taxes and let them give it a go. If thatís too hard to code an NPC, fine let them buy the building and setup and they can man it. Also give them the ability to write vellum so they donít have to have 10k talents on hand to operate it.
                3. Along the lines of money should be a class system. It was put up for a vote on the forums and 80% of people want it. Letís explore that and what it would mean. It would give players something to continue to strive for and like Herdias had mentioned on the poll post you could make jobs for newer characters which would add to the immersion.
                4. New and different options for armor. Currently itís either leather or bronze for most stuff. Letís add in iron or bosion pieces. Ellowyn had a great piece about different build sets. Where if you had light encumbrance, you had a significant bonus to agility. This would open new ways to outfight your character and make you choose your setup based on where you are going vs. the same tired thing.
                5. By the way love the idea of hired guards doing things for you. I'd love them to be a loot hauler for me cause I don't have the strength to carry all of it.

The following improvements for healing would be nice.(if already implemented, great)

Bandage Wound - the more skill, the faster your wounds heal, to get people back in the fight sooner, and encourage people to actually use bandages.

Rouse - the more skill, the longer you keep someone roused, if you have 100 skill, as a perk, you can temporarily wake someone from a coma for a minute, but only a minute, and wouldn't check them out of the coma ward, more to be able to communicate with them that help is coming.(or to troll someone if you want)

Administer - raising it to 1 success lets you not choke someone, what if raising it further allowed you to feed someone more, with less food/drink.

Arrow-pulling - with more skill, you can get more chance of getting a perfectly usable arrow that wasn't bloody, so that they can be re-fired at someone.

Diagnose - (currently have 50 diagnose, still can't see where people's splints are) Make it so splints are included in what you can see when you tend someone, can see all stitches, breaks, and bleeds, can't see splints, burns, or other various ailements that require special care, make it so they can be seen with more diagnose.
Additionally, make it so that with more diagnose, you are told how to treat things, like this wound is bleeding, it could use a stitch, or this limb is infected, some blood tonic would help. With the more complicated injuries requiring more skill in diagnose.

Remove bandage - I don't know... make it faster, if you're good?
Remove stitches, splint, tourniquet - see above.

application - fix it so that the echo matches the result, and provide echos for all the stuff that's applied, based on skill, for instance burn salve stops getting better at tingles slightly, and fever salve has zero feedback for how well it's done. I've heard people complain that even with awesome application, the things like painkiller don't really work for long.

Clean wound - maybe add an echo to the patient, saying how well the person cleaned it, and make it heal wounds faster, if they're clean. (it already does, but no echo)

Stitch wound - once you've got a 1 success, no point in training further, as an insentive to train further, maybe make it have a shorter round time, capping at 100, 19 seconds is a long arse time when people are bleeding.

Set Bone - with more skill over 1 success, make it hurt less... and at 100, you can do it to yourself, but only at 100.

Splint bone - at 100 make it so you can splint yourself at a penalty, and the more skill you have, the faster the break heals.

Apply Tourniquet - FIX this skill, it's useless, and the thing apply correctly, it uses a bandage, which is removed with remove bandage, but leaves a tourniquet, make it turn the bandage into a tourniquet on use, so that it's useful, also make it really fast compared to stitching, so that it's got a reason to use it, for multiple bleeders.

Those are my wishes for healing.

                    1) Love the idea of some skillsets for dogs (yes, I'm at somewhere near 10 pretty-pretty pets now. *ahem*). Would be SUPER-great if they could be taught more easily how to guard, since, as a noncom, the original point of the dogs was as guards for a total non-com char.

                    2) My big request is still that we do something to make being a tongueless character less difficult to play. If you have questions as to how I think we might make it easier, I'm happy to personally discuss the difficulties I've come across. Because, otherwise, as many have pointed out when I first started playing a voiceless character: it's really-really hard to play a tongueless character, and the option of tongue-cutting becomes a punishment to the player more than to the character, which makes playing said tongue-cut character nearly without value for most players, who will then simply @chop them.

                    3) Can we perhaps tie in more PCs to the IG administrative group, so admin tasks (like marriage certificates and transfers of ownership) can be RPed out while also speeding up the process to put them into IG effect?

                    Tailoring Wishes:

                    4) It would be nice to have a list / choose what lore (embroidery) one can learn from the NPC trainers, particularly as there are increasingly few experienced PCs from whom to learn such lore.

                    5) It would also be useful to be able to add / alter fabrics to crafted pieces. For instance, to be able to add fabric to a chair created by a woodsman, and to be able to embroider the fabric on the seat for that chair. This would create many more diverse pieces and would create a facet of the economy that could include people who are skilled in different kinds of non-com abilities. Or adding ribbons to lockpicks (since what else are all of those ribbons useful for?!? ).

                    6) More opportunities for interesting cloth?

                    7) Or perhaps a new skill in which berries can be turned into ink, and ink used to dye undyed cloth? Perhaps even cloth-dying and patterning skills added for tailors (so we could diversify in our abilities)?

That's my creative tangent for this evening; thanks for all you do, Siddhe!

Number 3 is already a thing, go through the pc patrician running that job.
number 4 already exists, but it's not going to be published by gms, get someone to give you a list.
number 6 has two shops for that very thing
number 7 is herbalism, which is disabled.

Number 7 could be made to work again, just like people are asking for hoods to be made legal again.

Thanks for your ceaseless responses a newbie. Though, I thought Siddhe was the one asking for lists.

This is already a thing. Lots of groups take advantage of it. While guild credits are currently "non-spendable" outside of org identifying items, you are welcome to put in an @request - org with an event idea and prizes desired, and you'll be provided with the feasibility of the request and appropriate IG costs.

BTW I am reading all of these, just wanted to jump in and quickly clarify this so people can put that information to use.
