  • Connecting via Orchil

For anyone that may be having problems connecting via Orchil, please be sure to first log into your Skotos account, and then visit this page: http://client.tec.skotos.net/tec/tec.htm

There was an update that was made to the "Orchil client" link on this page: http://www.skotos.net/games/eternal-city/ and it's now incorrectly redirecting. We've sent a note to Skotos to have it corrected, but in the meantime, you can use the first link posted above to access the game.

    Thanks!

This has been updated, so the link should now work. You may need to clear your cache if you're not seeing the correct link.

    Hope that helps!

The generic "Play now" link on the account overview page seems to be broken still just in case that was overlooked.

Also the orchil link on play now page opens up orchil with the silly skotos sidebar by default instead of opening a new window like before.

Orchil seems to not want to display diagonal exits on the map anymore.

My "Play Now" button on the sidebar of my account page, takes me here: http://www.skotos.net/games/eternal-city/

Where does yours take you? Or is there another "Play Now" I'm not seeing?

Check in your "prefs" and make sure you have the Alice links turned on also.

It could also be links to images that the source code references may be missing since the change in link.

I believe he wasn't referring to the sidebar play now, but the play now button on your account overview, after you log in, and it tells you your account is in good standing blah blah... and where you can buy more story points.

Yes. That is also what I was referring to.

When I clicked it, it took me to the normal, choice of which game did I want to launch with orchil... I picked Eternal City, it launched, but it never loaded.
Also, left clicking, after clicking orchil, when you're already logged in, loaded the client within the frame, not as a new tab, or window.

It's been reported that the diagonal directional buttons are no longer working properly on the minimap.

Yeah as Herdias said, please move:

                          http://test.skotos.net/orchil/tec/nose.gif

                          http://test.skotos.net/orchil/tec/nosw.gif

Over to their corresponding spots in http://client.tec.skotos.net/tec/

                          Example: http://client.tec.skotos.net/tec/sunburst4.gif

This is the Orchil code looking for those missing directional .gifs:

                          if (!link) { if (dir == 'hor' || dir == 'ver') { link = createMapDiv(id, 'map_area', 'map_link_' + dir); } else if (dir == 'ne') { link = createMapDiv(id, 'map_area', 'map_link_dia'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_tr', 'sw4.gif'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_bl', 'ne4.gif'); } else if (dir == 'nw') { link = createMapDiv(id, 'map_area', 'map_link_dia'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_tl', 'se4.gif'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_br', 'nw4.gif'); } else if (dir == 'none') { link = createMapDiv(id, 'map_area', 'map_link_dia'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_tr', 'nosw.gif'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_bl', 'none.gif'); } else if (dir == 'nonw') { link = createMapDiv(id, 'map_area', 'map_link_dia'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_tl', 'nose.gif'); createMapImg(link, 'map_link_dia_br', 'nonw.gif'); } } return link;

Oops. As Herdias so aptly just told me. I'm a dumbass. I actually had those saved in cache instead of them actually still being available. test.skotos.net was actually taken down.

Good news is, I had all of them saved in cache save for two, but I managed to recreate the missing two .gifs. If you guys need them, just hit me up on Discord or via Private Message in the forums and we'll figure out a way.
