  • Aziri and Lokeen fighters should no longer get stuck in defensive postures for unreasonable periods of time any more.

    Just on Lokeen for now, as an experiment: Solo ones that wander off and find each other should regroup and be willing to fight again, or if they're healthy enough on their own.

    • Healing Starting Actions

      As requested in the Skills Discussion 2013 thread, Healing starting actions have been modified to provide more basic (and profitable) skills to starting healers. Rather than starting out with Bandage Wound, Administer, Rouse, Arrow Pulling, and Diagnose... starting healers will now begin with Diagnose, Clean Wound, Bandage Wound, and Remove Bandages.

        • As requested in the Non-combat Skills Discussion 2013 thread, Half and Quarter Lengths of cloth are now sold at various tailoring supply shops. The Nehal Tribe, who truly let nothing go to waste, will even trade Eighth lengths to eek every last amber token from you.

          Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Creativity is putting tomatoes in a fruit salad to make mango salsa. Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is actually a smoothie. Common Sense is knowing that no, ketchup is not a smoothie.

          • Emotes that include the structure of Actor verb, "quoted text." are now considered speech by the system and will be processed as such.

            Attempting to use emotes to skip speech patterns, or other restrictions on speech, will no longer be tolerated. Re-writing an emote to appear as speech around this new mechanic will be addressed and can result in the suspension of a user's emote command, like any other instance of power-emoting.

            Please @report any bugs that you may come across with the emote command.

            • Changes to Healing

              There have been a variety of minor changes to Healing.
              • You may come across two new varieties of wounds to treat. Inflammation and Swelling now exist in the gameworld. It is currently fairly limited, but will be expanded where appropriate over time.
              • In order to treat these new wounds, an Inflammation Salve and a Swelling Salve have been added to the stocks of various healing supply shops.
              • The amount of time a salves effects are felt has been modified to better emphasize the ability of the healer applying the salve. Also, no matter how bad the healer applying the salve, it should last longer than 9 seconds.
              • Inflammation, Swelling, and Arrows protruding from your body will now show under CONDITION.
              • Bandaging, Cleaning, Splinting, and Applying salves will now have a greater effect on how long a wound takes to heal. There was an error in the code which prevented this from working correctly in some instances. This should be resolved.
              • When a salve is applied, the patient will now receive some text to inform them how that salve feels.

              • Cadmus, the Ironsmith on Bronze Lane finally has Stock.

                Harvesting Grass was easier to do with a knife than it was bare-handed. This is still true, but a few more tools were added to what you can use that are even more useful in terms of amount of grass harvested: Sickles & Reaping Hooks, as well as Scythes. (all of which are now sold IG).

                Belt Hoops got a minor update as well. You can now use them to hold a variety of tools, as well as scroll tubes and such.

                • You can now intentionally reveal yourself from hiding with one command, instead of relying on picking the least awkward visible command to do it for you.

                  UNHIDE
                  You see: You reveal yourself from hiding.
                  They see: Vitlis reveals himself from hiding.

                  You can also target someone, to make it a bit creepier.

                  *** NOTE: No current mechanical advantage to this. It is simply an RP tool.

                  UNHIDE <target>
                  You see: You step out of hiding next to a senator.
                  Target sees: Vitlis steps out of hiding next to you!
                  Others see: Vitlis steps out of hiding next to a senator!

                    • Mail Armor and Cuirass changes

                      Mail armor pieces had their properties all over the map, and have since been rescaled (using the lorica hamata as a reference point.) Weights, protection levels, item volume, hit points (if that becomes relevant again someday.) Overall, it has improved the items and made them consistent with each other.

                      Single Mail Sleeves are still available as custom items. Previously, double sleeves were only seen on a few event NPCs, but have also been fixed to match their single counterparts' properties. You may now purchase paired sleeves as a single custom item.

                      Cuirasses were also fixed: All of the ones except leather weighed the same. The weights now scale from leather, plain bronze, mail to muscle. It turns out that plain bronze cuirasses never offered any protection at all, unless they were later modified. They now all carry a protection rating somewhere between leather and mail. Muscle cuirasses are still the best, being made of thicker and higher quality plating than their thinner, cheap counterparts.

                      • Unjam and Jam Lock have been updated so the syntax no longer requires the out-dated "closed". The syntax are now as follows:

                        Unjam <lockable container> with <lockpick>
                        Jam <lockable container> with <lockpick>

                        The command "skills ?" will reflect this change (If you didn't know, this command provids you the syntax for every skill you know).

                              • The RP cost to shift around skill slots has been greatly reduced. Along with this, the cost to purchase new skill slots has been increased accordingly.

                                In doing this we hope to cut down on the "jack of all trades" types of characters out there and to make those that choose to specialize in a skill more valuable to others.
