Downtimes: June 24 - July 2nd

We've got another batch of shutdowns coming in late June and early July, so that the machines can be repaired for the newest bug, the ZombieLoad CPU bug.

In general, the Genesis games (Grendel, TEC, TEC-Test) all have reboots scheduled for the absolute middle of the night, so I'll be taking each down the previous evening at midnight and bringing them back up the next morning at 9am.

The SkotOS games have always been more robust about reboots, so we'll let them reboot on their own, though there's some chance for an ~2 hour data loss. In any case, I'll be checking them after the 2-hour window when I can, though Marrach has a middle-of-the-night reboot, so that'll be the next morning.

The UserDB and Web reboots will cause some downtime for the entire site, but again they will hopefully come up cleanly.

  • You see a stand of easels on display in the forum

As you make your way through the forums you pass by several easels displaying artwork of various sizes. A sign sits center of the display and reads:

Yeara Greystone: Artist, Gladiator, Super duper cool person.
If you would like a painting done, I do scenery, ships, portraits, and more!
Seek me out or send me a letter in the Harbour message office detailing what you'd like done.
(Portraits I require to look at your face!)
On display are three paintings that have been overly tied down with ropes and chains:

You see a large painting of a curvaceous woman. Rich silks of indigo, cobalt, and lavender hang from marble pillars in the background. Sunlight trickles through the curtains creating pale yellow rays of light. Basking gracefully on a long couch of ruby red fabric is a gorgeous woman wearing a tight fitting sheer chiton of midnight black Its low cut accentuates her cleavage. Her lapis eyes are accented by contracts of charcoal and her scarlet lips quirk into an almost sensuous smile. She rests one arm on the end of the couch, her elegant silver tipped hand holding her head up. Flowing locks of copper hue tumble beautifully across her bronze shoulders. The lower fabric of her dress drapes down across the front of the couch exposing her long sinuous legs. She has them crossed with knee high leather open toe sandals that showcase her silver painted toes.
A small label at the bottom reads 'Wicked'.

You see a relatively small painting. Sitting on a polished mahogany table draped in a white silk tablecloth rests a lone transparent cerulean vase and a single wax candle. A dozen roses float gingerly in water. Their vibrant spiky green stems lead upwards towards the blossoms. The petals are a dark crimson color brightening into a blood red hue at the edges. The light from the candle casts a shadow of the bouquet onto the alabaster cloth.
A small label at the bottom reads 'A Rose to Make the Heart Smile'.

You see a large painted scene of sprawling green hills and azure skies. Pale yellow rays of sunlight trickle down from behind several fluffy silver-white clouds. Several migrating birds can be seen flying off to a far away land. In the distance, a large city rises from atop one of the hills; puffs of smoke rising from several chimnies. In the foreground, three massive hounds; one brown, two black; are frozen midstep chasing a small ash grey rabbit with a bushy white tail towards the cityscape. Tiny blossoms of red, blue, yellow and white speck the grassy hills. A strapping young man with short hair and bright clothes and a gorgeous woman with flowing locks of red, rich looking in stature, lie laughing on an intricately woven multicolored blanket with their picnic basket while the hounds enjoy their hunt.
A small label at the bottom reads 'The Rabbit's Last Dance'.

A few paintings seem to have been replaced with new ones.
A sign reads: This weeks theme is ships!

You see a massive painting of an ocean with dark clouds brewing over the sunset. A fleet of ships poised on the horizon silouette themselves against a orange-red sun that hovers just over the horizon. Hues of crimson and maize filter outward from the sun into pinks and blues only to meet foreboding smoke grey clouds. Pale blue and brilliant white dance wildly throughout the dark clouds to create lightning. In the foreground, a half sunken ship flying a deep crimson flag fights hopelessly with a giant sea serpent. The massive blue-green beast coils muscular body around the wreckage, angling its face downwards at the vessel, dragging it into the deep blue waters. A lone island fills the eastern border of the painting. Aegean blue waves slam viciously against the boulders that fill the shore. White wake recedes back into the ocean. Towering upwards on the island is a solitary alabaster lighthouse with a scarlet stripe spiraling around itself to the point. Two men stand atop the structure pointing the bright yellow light towards the scene of the sinking ship. One points outwards to the dark fate of the sailors.
A small label reads 'A storm brews; A dark fate'.

You see a large painting of a lone ship. It rests on an angle, rocking in the tumultuous sea. Its beige sails ripple dangerously in the wind. Hues of white, silver, and blue mix together to form rough waves on a dark blue-green sea. The sky is painted with deep reds, pale yellows, and clouds of grey.
A small label reads 'Red in the morning'.

You see a large painting of a solitary ship. It floats on calm, glassy waters. Its sails have been lowered and it's umber masts stand bare. The sun hovers just over the horizon, a warm orange-red hue. The sky is filled with swaths of pinks, reds, oranges, and blues trickling into a dark purple sky with specks of white. The sea reflects the beautiful sunset on it's smooth waters.
A label reads 'Red at Night'.

You see a large rectangular painting. Brights shades of aqua, seafoam, and ocean blue fill the majority of this painting. Just off center a beautiful woman juts herself out of the water from the shoulders up. Ripples form around her in the clear blue. Her jet black hair floats freely around her, dancing with the waves. She smiles slightly with pale purple lips and alluring eyes that draw you in. Just above the surface her bossom floats covered in brilliant red seashells. Under the water, you see her waist is bare exposing her belly button and her pale olive skin. Just below her naval her figure shifts suddenly into a long scale covered tail resembling that of a fish. Each scale seems to shift into a different color than the next creating a dizzying rainbow effect. The tail tapers off into a large two point fin of the same crimson color of her shells.
A label reads 'A Sailors Delight'.
